Is there a mod out there that will allow me to change when a given event, such as the mogol horde arrival or the gunpowder invention, occurs?
I play pretty aggressively, and find that I am having to intentionally slow down my progress so that the campaign doesn't end well before I get any gunpowder units.

I think there is a file called descr_events.txt in data/world/maps/imperial_campaign (not precisely sure of the path there), where the date/turn number is specified. I haven't been able to work anything out in there though as some of the numbers are a little abstract looking.

its just 1080+the number ...
however playng a bit with it i got strange results ... for example after delayng the gunpowder invention ive got no mongol invasion ...so i wonder if they are related between themselver or if i made an error somewher else

This is what you are looking for.
What I want to know is, is it based purely on turn number?? And if so does this mean that those of us who play at 1 or 2 turns per year get our events earlier??

Its the year number (0 being the starting year).
