So after the Polybian reforms after 242, I have to build new barracks in any settlement I want to train new Polybian troops? Is this how it's intended to work or am I missing something? Seems like AI might not do this and not take advantage of reforms if it already has high or highest level barracks in certain cities. Also, it's an annoyance for the player to have to build a higher level of barracks for a lot more money than necessary. I'm sure it's the hardcoded limits, I'm not complaining. Just want to make sure that's in fact how it's done so I don't go wasting an ungodly amount of money around Italy for no reason.

Yes, you have to upgrade your barracks. The Camilian and Polybian barracks are the same building tier.

In 0.81 (I have been told) highest level Camilian can go to highest Polybian.

It looks like this (0.80 version):

The only thing the reform does is 'turns off' the red arrows and 'turns on' the green arrows.

The only places you will have to do this are in your six Camillan cities, so it shouldn't be too much of a burden. You will also be able to build Polybian barracks in four additional cities.

Oh, I get it. That does make it more bearable, thanks black.

The more obnoxious update is when you go to Augustan from Marian. Same kind of setup, only wherever you have a Marian MIC - which is a whole lot of places. ~:) But by then you should have a solid portion of the map, so your per-turn income should give you some flexibility.

I'm just about to reach the Imperial Era (I've had a highly ambitious guy waiting around for nearly 20 years) and I have nearly 6 million. Money definately isn't a problem. :2thumbsup:
