View Full Version : How Far Have You Gotten in an EB Campaign?

I'm curious as to how far people have gotten (in date) in their EB campaigns. Has anyone ever gotten to the end time of AD14?
Since 0.81 just came out and everyone is having to start new campaigns, I thought it was a good time to see how far you got before you had to switch.
Depending on your play style, EB can be a rather time consuming game. I am one of those people that likes to play out most battles and spend many minutes just thinking and rechecking on what my moves are going to be for the turn.
For me, I can see it taking a few months for me to finish any one faction. Barely into my new Romani campaign and I have found myself starting it over twice so far.

My campaigns are notoriously short-lived. I think i've only ever finished 3 campaigns ever-- all in Vanilla (Julii (to unlock)-Greek Cities-Germans). 2 of which were the short campaigns. I usually play one until things get stable and look promising and then i think "hhhhmmm i wonder what things are like on the other side of the map...." within minutes i'll be kicking off a new campaign... *sigh*
Too many factions... not enough me's...

The longest campaign I played was to 228 or so as the Seleucids. Had one of my generals return Alexander to Pella.
But sadly I have yet to Finish a modded Rome Total War game. :wall: I just keep starting over.

In 0.7.4 I had an Epirote Campaign that went to somewhere to about 225 BC. It took so many hours of my life, but I had Greece, Italy, Austria, Illyria and Dacia. I was also fighting on 4 fronts I had the Maks with Asia Minor fighting to my East. I had the remains of the Getai to the North of Dacia. I had all of Germany attacking my Austrian foothold and I had Carthage fighting in Sicily and later Rome (They had 5 or 6 stacks against my 1, so I was beaten back).

I played a Casse campaign till 208 (I attained victory in 218)
That was the longest EB game I'd ever played.

In EB, longest I played was till 250-240 BC with Pontos, had conquered most of Asia Minor when the Seleucids started to get really mad and having removed most of the Ptolemys from the game I got too many elite stacks on my land to continue.
That and the fact that my computer can't run EB as it could Rome
Im at 209 BC on my current Rome campaign (my longest campaign ever,) and I don't plan on downloading 0.81 until the thing is finished. I'm only four or five cities from winning, but I plan to strike out east and see how far I can get before rebellion tears my empire apart.

I'm doing similar. I'm still playing my 0.80 Roman campaign. But I'm in 139BC currently and have two more cities to go (Sweboz and Saba homelands).

Awesome campaign.
I'd just expelled the Greeks from Asia Minor, crushed the Seleucids and was beating up the Ptolemies. Grand campaign.
I usually play until my economy becomes dominant and it gets to be too easy to conquer everything. Right now Im in the year 250 with the Romani, all of Italy is mine as are some provinces in Gaul and the eastern and southern shore line of Iberia. Had carthage expanded it might have been interesting but right now Im just wittling away their original territories and expanding into sicily
Lord I cant wait to hit reforms... never made it there before

I have never gotten past the 250s. It just feels soooo long!(Yet so fun!) My longest campiagn was as the Arverni and I made it to 255 before quiting and starting a Bactrian campiagn.(Which incedently only lasted 5 turns)

I never did finish my Casse campaign. Had it going for ages. Last I played it the date was around 80 BC.
I always play till i have to many powerfull armies, to pany provinces and to little foes then i go play a different faction. :P most the time I just get into a different game before I can continue working on a campaign then when I get a chance to play some more I say, well I mise well start a new campaign.
