Hi there guys,

just so you know a bit about me, i'm Paul, but call me Trip its just a nickname :) I'm a die hard Medieval Total War fan, and I love the gunpowder warfare era so i downloaded Pike & Musket Total War.

But the thing is, i have downloaded it but i cant find it anywhere in my Total War Folder (i have installed it aswell) and i cant find the icon anywhere to launch the game.

Does anyone have any ideas?

I'd try just starting Medieval Total War, it might be a mod that overwrites the game files to change Medieval to P&M...

And welcome to the Org!

Use your old MTW VI icon - it doesn't override this file so no worries.

In addition I suggest installing the patch which increases the experience by at least 50 %.:book:

If you have more questions use the PMTW for MTW VI subforum - the link in my sign.:egypt:

It still doesnt work. There is no .exe file for launching the game anywhere.

If you indeed installed it in the right place all you need is to launch the MTW as usual - there are no new .exe files.

Lauch the MTW as before the mod was installed and you will see the modded game instaead of your old MTW.:2thumbsup:

Hi musket,
I'm not really sure, yet are you sure that you have Viking Invasion installed? I think that it could have something to do with that, although you will have to check with cegorach first, my knowlage of M:TW, as it does with R:TW, only extends to the art of losing battles!

Tried reinstalling M : TW then P&M : TW and it still comes up with the same thing. And yes i have installed the Music file so what the hell is happening?

Anyway what kind of a mod is that? Mods arent supposed to override their "mother" game.

Not the whole engine m*.

The only way you could get such message is if you installed the mod incorrectly.

Over 100 people downloaded the mod in last month-two alone and and only here someone is complaining.

You need to have clear MTW + VI and install the mod to the right directory later all you need is to launch the game as before - 'user-friendliness' is at highest level here.:juggle2:

Sorry, but you are wrong Musket! I am quite sure that all mods for M:TW overwrite the vanilla installation - I think that it is the only way of getting a mod to work with the M:TW or VI game engine.

How can i find out what version of M : TW i have?Simple! All you have to do is go into the main campaign and see if there is a campaign called "Viking Invasion". If there is then you have the capacity to play P&M.

Also, in the upper left-hand corner of the main menu screen, it should say version "2.01". That will inidicate you have MTW/VI with the 2.01 patch, which is the version you need to play the mod.

And also, do you remeber buying a game called Medieval Total War ?

And do you remeber buying a expansion pack for that game called Medieval Total War - VIking invasion ?

And do you rmember installing thse onto your computer ?

If you rember all that, then give yourself a clap on the back, as it is very hard work!

And if right, ahvr you tried all suggested here, becasue you have never told us if you have MTW and VI, so until you tell us that, we can't really tell as if you have VI or not is a factor!
