I've noticed (while playing Lusotannans) that the Iberian heavy infantry (lorica scutarii I believe) has 2 points less defensive skill, and 1 point lower melee skill than the medium Iberian infantry - though the heavy infantry makes up for it with 2 points more of armor, but still, that only evens the defense stats, and I think the medium infantry move faster. Is this is stat typo, or was there some reason for the heavies to have that weakness? And if so, what role do they play, if they are slower, but not necessarily stronger than the mediums?

If you want Iberian stat-related weirdness, look at the terrain bonuses most of the infantry get. I mean, 4 in forest ? Even the Sweboz, presumably the penultimate woodland fighters in the world, don't get nearly that high...

The Iberians literally appear to be the masters of terrain fighting and hiding and javelin skirmishing. It's easy to make entire armies of javelin-throwing hiders of all types.

About tge bonus in forests, no that isn't so wierd at all. They were great ambushers and stuff. They really deserve that. However some other things about the stats might be wrong tough. Like that defence thing you said, I noticed it too and I find it somewhat wierd too.

AFAIK, all these units are supposed to be balanced in the near future. There's still *a lot* of factional and regional units to make for the Iberian Peninsula.

On ambushes: I don't see why should the Germans be that much special in ambushing than the Iberians [are we basing this solely on Teutoburg?]. Maybe a bit more from forests in comparison with Iberians and Celtiberians, but surely not in comparison with the Northerners [Callaeci, Asturi, Cantabri] or the Lusitani.

In addition, I believe that the terrain bonuses are messed up in 1.5 and apply at all times, so I think tk has just finished taking them away from all units. This was an ongoing process, which is why some celtic units already had that bonus taken away.
