Has it ever been considered to make the faction creator for all settlements rebel, instead of having a lot of them have actual factions? If it's possible of course. I'm just thinking it might be better this way so that there aren't all those automatic wars when a settlement rebels to another faction. Also, you'll know exactly what the standing of any rebelling territory is, which comes in handy in a lot of situations.

Maybe I haven't put a lot of forthought into this (which I haven't, it just crossed my mind) but I don't see any problems that would come from this. Are there any? The only reason I can see why there are faction creators is to give the AI some easy provinces every once in a while, and initiate wars but I don't know if that's all that necessary.

Creator factions have to be one of the normal factions. The rebels can't be the creator. Nor can the rebels be included or excluded in building restrictions. Nor can the rebels be included/exculded from unit recruitment. The rebels are definately not like any of the other factions in game dynamics and coding.

Well what I was trying to say was to not have faction creators I guess, just make it so that any settlement that rebels automatically just goes to the rebels.

Rebel faction creator I think works Marcus, but it has bad side effects. Or maybe that was rebel faction culture. It causes the buildings to all look like roman ones, no matter where it is. Cities look like roman ones on the strat map too. We tried it early on and felt there was no way we could live with it so we moved on.

I was pretty sure that I heard that settlements have to have a factions to rebel to that isn't rebel. Without this there will be problems. Though I heard that like a year ago and it was probably in some random forum, so that means it could be crazy incorrect.

(Man, I'm tired, I can't even phrase sentences (or spell 'frase').)

Our rebels are in the greek culture now, so their cities would look like western greek ones.

When a faction creator is destroyed, the settlement that would have rebelled to that faction goes to rebel. Is there any way to simulate this through a script? Have the rebels have whatever kind of settlement and everything else that matches their location or whatever needs to be taken into consideration, basically like having the faction creator, but through a script or some other method (of course I don't know if it's possible) have them go to rebel. If not then oh well, I'll move on too I suppose.

Well some cities should rebel to their starting faction. If Rome falls to Carthage let's say, but rebels free a few turns later, it's going to rejoin the Roman Republic, not start it's only city state all over again.

Other than starting regions is what was implied.
