As a non-regular cigar smoker, I must say it's not that special. damn thing keeps going out though :furious3:

Was it rolled on the thigh of a dusky maiden? :inquisitive: Perhaps it's a bit sweaty, that's why it keeps going out. :laugh4: You could always insert some bellows.....:sweatdrop:

I suspect my black market purchase has been a bit of a cat in a bag. The taste isn't anything special imo, but the amount of smoke that gets through is so low I might as well be smoking a light cigarette.

Doc, the fact that it's Cuban really doesn't say much. You have look at other aspects of its quality. That's how the sucker inexperienced buyers into buying Cubans. I've had two Cubans in my life and have found that smoking my favorite $6 cigar from the DR is much more satisfying.

What kind of Cuban is it? My brother-in-law takes frequent trips to Egypt on business and brings back Bolivar Coronas. They are quite good, but way too expensive for my taste.

Your black market purchase might be stale or not a real Cuban.

I've got a bunch of Cohiba Esplendidos - taste great, but last forever. Which is irritating in Scotland, as it means I can either drink in the bar, or smoke outside of it, not both. Also amusing when I give them to friends of mine less used to cigar smoking, they're quite heavy duty and can make the unaware feel a tad queasy.

I enjoy Cognac dipped cigars, but I can only get my hands on those at weddings, and they have to be weddings of the affluent.
I do have a compromise, however. Smoking a cigar while drinking Cognac. The cigar isn't as good, but I do enjoy Cognac as a drink moreso than on a cigar.

Is cigar smoking as addictive as cigarette smoking? I.e, is it possible to smoke a cigar only once in a blue moon?

Unfortunately, I hear that not only are Cuban cigars more addictive than heroin, they also turn you into a communist.

They may be just as addictive, but as they cost what they cost, you can't really afford to be adicted....

Although, in the communist scenario suggested by BKS, if the government provides you with cigar talons.... That might work out.

It was a Cohiba, the smaller variety.

You're not supposed to inhale so it's probably less addictive, I never got hooked on cigarettes either though, I don't have an addictive personality I guess :2thumbsup:

Honduran cigars are superior, is my not so humble opinion.

Nicotine isn't addictive unless you use A LOT of it. Like daily. Don't think you'll ever get enough nicotine out of a cigar to get addictive anyway... Snus on the other hand...But that's just heaven....

And don't worry about being turned into a communist, we're doing just fine :)

By average, how much is a Cuban hand made cigar worth?

It all depends where one is located.
For Romania, I'd assume they would be rather expensive, as, well, it is far away from Cuba.
I don't care much about the "Cuba" on the label, especially because they are blasted expensive to ship here.
I don't smoke cigars much though. I cannot afford it. Cigs are cheaper.

Depends on the type, some go over 10€ a piece apparently. I don't really know the prices here.

BTW don't smoke at your age.

I bought an 18 dollar Cuban when I was in Canada. They go all the way up to $ 100+

How old is he?
I started at 15--I'm not the healthiest.

Okay.
Don't get started early.
I thought it was the end, so I tried one. Lived, liked it, and still do. I don't get any buzz from them anymore.
