Firstly i would like to thank the Team for EB, its a grand mod and the sole reason i re-installed RTW. The history just drips out of the mod and is wonderful.
Now the question, the game is running intolerably slow for me and sometimes freeezes up. Its strange since vanilla RTW runs fine. Any suggestions for how i can fix this. Im running a three year old DEll laptop without about half the harddrive free. Thanks in advance.

EB has a greater map and a script running in the background, amongst other things that are bigger and more of than in vanilla. Unfortunately, while this in my opinion creates a much better game, the game requires more resources. You can try to reduce video settings to speed up, as well as disabling any other programs/services you may have running in the background.

For the campaign map, also try disabling settlement and character names with Ctrl-T and Ctrl-N. For the battles, try using one of the smaller unit sizes.

Also with regard to running games on laptops-- make sure you have it plugged in to a power supply. Games generally run slower if using the battery.

Not sure if this is what is happening... best to be sure though.

And welcome. ~

Greetings!

Ram/graphics card? Also how much ram does your graphic card have? I fear it has a built-in graphics card which uses system ram. If that is the case, not a lot of things can be done, I am afraid.

Do defrag your hard drive in any case.

On the campaign map, it also helps a lot to turn off shadows.
