I am preparing myself for the next round of the national history olympiad, which is something like a hard history test. National history contest, municipal(which equals to district, county....) stage. ~:)
Now, I have to prepare the formation of Medieval civilisations( German nations, Arabs, Romans(late) ) and Medieval Civlisation, most importantly Feudal Hierarchy.
I would be very grateful if you could recommend some websites so I can check them. As books, no time to buy, but I do have Jacques Le Goff, Medieval Civilisation, which is very handy. ~:)
Thanks. ~

Where does the viewpoint focus, social, military, economic? Is it going to ask what Frederick Barbarossa did or is the contest going to be more concerned with stuff like what kind of impact Feudalism dealt to Europe and the armaments of an average Gendarme; what's usually asked and what's usually answered. Etcetera. Without knowing, people can only give you generalities.
Oh, and I personally don't know a single history book like that -- I tend to not care about the name/author of the books and just plain read the texts -- and therefore useless. Others around the Monastery tend to, though.

Well, it's specifically on details of history. For example, on the Medieval Civilisation part, we have to focus on the Feudal Hierarchy. This means writing about 3-4 pages about it. Military - 0. Social and economic, this is the main aspect.

Well...just to throw in a shameless ploy to lead others to their doom, perhaps you would like to check out the 12CG link in my sig and all will be well:2thumbsup:
Seriously though, I don't know of any premier websites to go to for this history. My advice is to google around and post general questions on boards like these for help on the subjects.
This, in all honesty may help you:

It's more or less directly quoted from an Osprey book I believe.
