View Full Version : What completely ruined your day?
What completely ruined your day? I want to hear some trajic stories of loss, depravity, and heartbreaking life-changing trajedys.
What completely ruined my day. Is the fact that my Baldurs Gate 2 doesnt work anymore. All because of a minor (And I mean 1 centimeter long) scratch on the top of the cd. Cyclic Redundancy Error. I was feeling a urge to play the game (I get one every year or so) and bugger didnt work. I almost cried.
I seem to remember I was quite annoyed when I chipped my front tooth with a hoover. Picked up hose, swung it about lazily, and whack.
Bad day.

I'm not sure i could do that if i tried....
My day has been ruined by the rain

Excuse me while I go and cry in a corner

I had to get up at 5am, leaving a warm body in my bed, in order to go tramping around the hills in the rain, carrying a rucksack and a metal thing.
I am now absolutely knackered, and the only warm body in the house, save my own, is that of the cat.
Nothing wrong with a good rain. Rain always brightens me up.

Where I live it never stops pissing down.
I have an assignment to do for uni and I left my textbook up in my flat.... I almost cried.
I have spent all day trying to do a Zelda dungeon. I keep nearly finishing it, getting distracted, quitting, and having to start again from the beginning.
Why do game designers realise making me do it all again doesn't make it harder, it just annoys me and makes me blacklist their company? Damn Nintendo. And damn dungeon levels. I'm stuck on Super Mario too. Argh!

I'm sorta with you there. Had National Guard duty this weekend, have had midterms last week and more this week and would have prefered to study this weekend. Instead we just kept loading stuff up on trucks to move from our current armory to our future armory. Our unit doesn't have any trucks of its own right now so we need to borrow from other units who give us their junkers.
At least it didn't rain though and enjoyed my PT run.

It's all good though, the day before, I passed an exam, got a pay rise, and took someone home with me. So it all balances out, I suppose.
*And I did volunteer for the hill-walking, an optional training day for the competition that was optional to join.

For me it was yesterday. Started out nice, went to church, but then I found out a friend from church is in the hospital with an unknown brain disease. After that, I went home cooked some food (standard for my Sundays).
Then I was playing Guitar Hero II and my Mom called. Grandma is in the hospital with heart problems. She's 87.
Then I want to go back to church for supper and a movie and, being that I am a genious, I left my lights on all day long so my battery was dead. I found someone to jump my van... but my cables have walked off.
Yeah, yesterday was fun.
But Grandma is doing better and I do have cables now. My friend is stable, but still serious.

My girlfriend left me :shame: :embarassed: ... Time to hit the Potato chips!!:elephant: ~:joker:

Unexpected and inconvenient short-notice business trips for me (to Zurich tomorrow) and Mrs. Clegane (probably to Finland next week) + the realisation that quite a lot of builders apparently try to screw you in the building contract (after reading through the latest offer we received I already lost my motivation for the upcoming meeting with the builder...

Let's just hope that she didn't leave you with a going away present, and you end up having personal issues like our boy Dave and lil' Dave.

Love the name by the way. I'm thinking of changing mine to gym sock and we can then become a crime fighting team trying to end "ruin days" for all mankind .:laugh4:

That bites the big one there man, hope it eventually works out for you. That was also far more information that I ever wanted to know about you as well  Hey at least you're getting laid, I've been married for almost 4 years now. Do the math.

Dude, it's crap, total utter crap. But it's some of the most hilarious crap I've ever read on these forums.
I'm violently opposed to you changing your forum handle, too many people know and recognize "Devastatin' Dave". We could try something like "The Dynamic Duo of Destruction, Devastatin' Dave and Whacker!" but that doesn't have a good flow to it, plus it sounds a lil' too... mantastic. Y'know? :inquisitive:

I bet that's probably going to ruin his insurance company's day moreso than his! You know Bugatti sold those things as a huge loss? I remember hearing, and just checked the Wikipedia article, they were making those things for 5 million Euros each and selling them for about 1.3 mil USD. :inquisitive:

You should have read my "daveinkorea" posts, those were the good ol' days...
I hope that Dude that wrecked his ride had insurance or a wealthy relative.
I've got a doozy for ya. Christmas day, 2006. My oldest li'l lemur has breathing problems. Needless to say, we're in the middle of a blizzard. To make a long story short, I spend all of Christmas in a children's hospital with my boy looking like this:
