Hi does anybody know how the romani can recruit seige equipment before the vitruvian? set. I have a full level factional mic in rome but no katapeltai or lithoboloi are recruitable. I checked on Caligula and it said that the generic seige set was recruitable by selucia but I cannot find how to do this in the game.:help:

Also, why does Arche Selukia have the ability to recruit so many more types of Galatians than the Ptolemaoi who were the most famous for their use and resettlement of Galatian troops?:dizzy2:

The artillery units for rome can only be recruited after the marian reforms. before that they can be recruited in certain cities in greece with regional mics, i believe.

I think the reason the AS can hire so many more types of Galatians is because they tend to conquer Ankyra which is the Galatian home town in Asia Minor.
The Galatians are mostly reagional troops and mercs. Using mercs isn't a problem for the AS with their virtually limitless treasury.

Indeed. Galatian (and indeed more generally celtic) mercenaries were as ubiquitous as Greeks during the Hellenistic era. The Celts faced the same population pressures, and were equally useful in that their heavy infantry complimented powerful but fairly inflexible phalanxes well.
