since the other one is dead...

Doesn't the EB AI get money bonuses?

I'm playing Romans on VH campaign, M battle and I'm steam rolling through the AI factions. I'm at 252 BCE and have conqered 25+ provinces.

Edit: btw, I'm giving my allies some of my conquered provinces so they can be an actual challenge when I fight them...

It's been mentioned many times, in many posts, the AI does get bonuses. Based on how many cities they own. And maybe others, not sure. In any case, look around and you'll find what you're looking for.....

Hi Intranetusa,
I beleive that the AI also receives a bonus of five great command stars against the human player - although it could be more, and it could be less - you will have to wait for an EB techno-person to turn up to know that for sure. Hope this helps you, cheers!

The AI gets bonuses of money, yes. If you are playing on Hard they get a little bonus, if you are playing on Very Hard they get a big one. EB adds additional bonuses. During the first 5 years (20 turns) a small nation (1-3 settlements) with a small treasury (in debt - $3000) will receive $6000 every turn. Also, every faction will receive $1200 per settlement owned every turn throughout the game.

You should stop steamrolling. It is impossible for a nation controlled by a weak AI to withstand a nation that is all about war and thinks as one single human mind. House rules are a good way to achieve something difficulty levels can't. Also try play with general camera. You just might lose sometimes.

It wasn't a weaker faction - I steam rolled Carthage and Macedonia+Epiors.

General camera? That's crazy! >_< Unit restricted cameras at best...

It wasn't a weaker faction, but it had a weak AI. That's all I'm saying. General camera takes a while to get used to, but it is more fun, challenging and emersive that the basic floating eye. With it you are the general, who is more than just a free unit with great regenerating bodyguards. Give it a try sometime, you just might like it. Try it against small rebel groups at first.

with the general only camera, can you even divide your troops? It would seem that if they stray too far, you can't even command or control them...

You can control them however far they may be, you just might not be able to see them.
