Can't get Europa Barbarorum off the ground

I have a clean version of RTW, the 1.5 patch, and the full installation packet from EB already installed, but when I click on the shortcut for EB, the computer starts searching for the RomeTW.exe file. After five minutes it says a short cut does not exist, and when I ask it to create one, it simply takes me to the regular RTW game instead of running the Mod. Has anyone had the same probelm? I'm currently running Win. XP media edition if that has any bearing on the problem. Can anyone offer some advice?

Hi and welcome jokamachi,
Do you have Rome: Total War Gold or do you have standard Rome: Total War - that could be part of the problem, you may have installed in the wrong folder. May I suggest that you uninstall EB and then attempt to re-install it, if you have Gold, placing it into "C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\" should solve your problem and allow you to play the great EB. "Omanes Alexandrapolites the Idiot" is right. You get that error if you placed EB in a different folder than where you placed RTW. The most common places for RTW are:
C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Rome - Total War\
C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\

Uninstall EB, then note where RTW is and install EB to that same place.

Dang I had the same problem.

It's definitly the location of the install. Wherever you put RTW you have to put EB.

It looks somthin' like this

C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\
C:\Program Files\SEGA\Rome - Total War\
C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\

Important though that you do not change the install location of RTW.

Well, I have the regular version of RTW. Is EB still playable with that one? I'll try to install them in the same folder and let you know. Thanks for all the help. Hopefully this will work.
