View Full Version : Odd unit Readings
I've been modding the unit_prod files and have been experiancing some rather odd behavior by the game. I will change certian stats (say Rus Spearmen's atk value from 0 to 2) and then on the info parchments it will call that a "good attack" ; this has been restricted to just spearmen, but almost every unit. I changed the defense for the arab infantry to 0 and got "good defence". I changed the morale on the peasants to 1 and got "good morale". The list goes on and on. I was using GnomeEditor2.0. I just don't understand, it never did this to me on Vanilla.
The description of stats does just that, it describes the current statistics of a unit. So if I give say peasants javelins it will say "Missiles Good vs Armour" etc
I understand that, but what I don't understand is why they have these readings. I thought everything had a set base, very weak -2 or lower, weak -1 to 0, good attack 3, etc.
Oh right I see what you mean. That is odd then. Don't know what's wrong, sorry.
There is a certain range of values IIRC, not set values. Those descriptions are quite general. So a good attack might be anything between 1 and 3 for example and a weak attack might be between 0 and -2 or whatever. Not exact figures but I think you can see what I'm getting at?
I see what you mean, but I thought this was set for every unit, in that every unit uses the same scale.
