I've been following the development of this game through EB and I've ben very pleased with the results. THIS GAME IS NOW AWSOME!!!!!!! Thanks EB(: but i wanted to know about the development of scorpions and the (ass kicker) that have been taken completely out of the game. These were common Roman weapons and I wanted to know if the reason behind this was the hard coding or what? I understand if it is as I've modded those weapons to actually be workable years ago but were they scrapped because of the hard coding or because they simply ruined the gameplay?

On 2 other notes, the bugs I've found with .81a was when I was attacked in Messila and Carthage had one seige tower. I was worried as I didn't have the wall defences necessary but the tower came toward the city, stopped short and the people that were supposed to get in there started running around in circles outside of it while my defences shot arrows at it (the city) until nothing was left but for me to run out and destroy the cavalry of the Carths.

The other note is that for some reason after 232 BC suddenly Rhodos, (I forget the name but the city just next to Sicilian by Messalia, not the island) suddenly let me build a unit building er....unit. So in effect I could now build late Roman armies from this place and a lot of other places simply because I disbanded a couple of units there. I don't know exactly which ones, I wish I kept track but then other cities let me do the same. I've never built the new one in Capua however as building the new one didn't let me build the Samites heavy infanty.

Any comments? I'd like to know how this thing is developing and especially the latter 2 as it seems to be a bug that I remember having in the original game.

Scorpions and other artillery wasn't produced by the romans in 272 BC. They will become available with later reforms. (post marian) Check the custombattle unit selection screen to see what artillery is in EB. Aditionaly we have greek artillery in the game available from the beginning, but romans can only get them from certain client states.

If "ass kicker" refers to the onager. One armed torsion engines were not used in our timeframe only in the later empire. They are replaced by accurate two armed stone throwers (ballista).

I was using Carthage and bought a big ballista (the one who throws 1 talent stones) and then I got the vanilla ballistae. I was like :embarassed: because It didnt looked like the Unit card, but at least did his work.

We haven't been able to put custom seige animations into the game, so we have to use the vanilla models for now.
