Hi Will_YouFight_ForME,
May I suggest this thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=53849). I sadly haven't got as far as the imperial reforms, yet the thread contains some images of Imperial units. Enjoy them, cheers!

I wish i could get that far, but everytime i get to around the year 230BC i end up having to fight so many full stacks of enemy troops each turn that it takes me 4 hours to get through one year...

I've turned the handouts down to 500 per settlement per turn, but all this did was make the AI recruit full stacks of skirmishers and slingers instead of full stacks of spearmen/swordsmen, so i still end up having to fight stacks and stacks.

I think i'll just quit RTW altogether... It's obvious this problem can never be fixed, even with the EB teams expertise.

Hahaha where are these full stacks coming from?!?!? I've only fought one full stack - the Arverni, and that was because they were protecting the only settlement they had left.

Before quitting try autoresolve. Are those full stacks Sweboz?

They're coming from the Greeks, the Sweboz and the Aediu, full stack after full stack.

When you're playing on VH/M, you can auto-resolve with odds of 20-3 in your favour and still suffer a crushing defeat.

I see no trolls in this thread, do you? What a pointless spammish thing to say.

----------------

Besides, i've turned down the handouts to 500 per city per turn and am playing a campaign on these settings so i'll see how it goes, although up to now i have just been fighting full stack after full stack of skirmishers and slingers rather than the usual full stack of levy spearmen and such, but i'll give it until 200BC or so to see how it goes.

I used to post my progress in the AI expansion thread, but then when new versions came out I stopped. Plus it became a 'my expansion' and not an AI expansion.
Here is my progress from an empire similar to the historic height of Rome to my most recent:
150:https://img148.imageshack.us/img148/9789/150km1.jpg
140:https://img148.imageshack.us/img148/6264/140cb0.jpg
My invasion of Germania, just after the Republic fell.
130:https://img148.imageshack.us/img148/4069/130vm6.jpg
My invasion of Media and Elymais. Parthia didn't seem to care and is still throwing everything they have at Phraaspa. I still don't have Imperial Legions in the Persian conquests. Though I have two in Pontus and one in Thrace that are making their way over to replace the Marian Legions. I've also been fighting a war against Saka Rauka with my only allies (the Sarmatians).

For some reason, the last remaining Celts are my really good friends (first time I've seen someone I partially conquered be my friends). Once Germania is stablized, I have plans for the far north (Poland).

That's a pretty awesome empire! Is the only victory condition you haven't completed raiding the Saby'ns?

hey thats pretty awesome
it begs to ask the question how would such a mighty empire collapse? in EB

in BI its easy but in just rtw i think i would get boring :S

RTW provides no such avenue for an empire like that to collapse. Sorry.

I think the only way to make it collapse would be to play by some rules that make it very difficult, like using real legionary soldiers as garrisons to make it very expensive instead of 120 man unit, 160 manai a turn akontistai. :smash:

No moving your capital, no retraining silver chevroned units, you know that kind of crap.

When the Republic fell and my Emporer came to power, 'he' lowered taxes across the entire empire. My monitary reserve is slowly falling (from an initial 4 million). When it starts to get low, I will have some kind of 'internal' problems...

I also replaced my garrisons with 2 Vigiles in every city, any more required for public order are Spear Avxilia. And avxilias cost almost as much as legionaries.

The only threat to you in the parthian empire, maybe it's time to grind them to the dust...

There seems to be only like 5 factions left, not much stopping you from conquering the world, my advice would be to finish the seleucids but try and make them your protectorate, then throw all you've got at the persians before they can react.

I would post screens of my alexanderesque macedonian empire if someone would link me to a program that converts .tgas to jpegs; any help please?

Zadrakata, the only Parthian town that borders me, has about six full stacks guarding it. Plus the two stacks that pass by every turn on their way to attack me. I have two and a half legions (20 unit legions) in Media and two are tied down defending. I was planning on sending more legions to the area, but right now I'm just trying to replace my Marian legions.

Seleucia is pretty much worthless as an enemy. They make a good buffer state though. They'll send a half stack against me ever 8 turns or so, but the only unit they have (worth mention) is the Pantodapoi Phalanx. They attacked a group of 12 slingers I had once (they had recently been replaced by Archers Avxilia) and I actually won against their half stack. And 080 Eastern Slingers don't have AP.

Plus something really funny and shocking is happening. I have been trying to avoid war with Saba, so I have been giving them money all the time. And since they don't want to attack me, they are marching through my territory and attacking the Seleucids.

P.S. You can just open the picture with "Paint" and click 'save as' and choose .jpeg. Or can "Paint" not open .tgas?

Download Irfanview... I've used it for years, neat little tool and easy to use too.

I think the website is Irfanview.net or some such, or just google it if it isn't. I'm too lazy to look for you.

Hm, MarcusAureliusAntonius, I'm wondering: Isn't it really hard to keep the population of, let's say, Nubia content? After all, they are far away from Rome(which I think is your capital). I have never achieved such an Empire, but it seemed that I already had Problems as the Sleucids keeping conquered Bactria happy when my capital was Seleukeia...

I altered the bonuses on some buildings (similar to the city mod I just made) so it is a little easier to keep some places content. I also keep a legion (18 units) stationed in every newly conquered town (though I didn't have to in Germania, after inslaving them, they seemed happy under my rule). I think I still have a legion in Nubia. Plus I always send governors to my newly conquered regions.

Ah, nice to know this. I will take a look at your mod when a new EB Version is out and I'l start an Arche Seleukeia Campaign again!
But I first have to crush these pesky Romans under my Epeirotean feet, I have almost complete Hegemonie over Greece (Aitolia's defense is too strong)
and at the moment I'm crushing every single roman army with a huge Army led by Ptolemaios Aikaides, who became quite a bookworm and an aesthetic one after a few years at the Akademeia in a Athens:book: . Pyrrhos is already dead, died of old age in Taras right after heroicly defending it against a really huge roman stack of Pedites Extraordinarii. Well, I hope I can prevent such an roman empire as yours from emerging, hehe :laugh4:
