Hi!

I am worried I am having a serious problem with my campaign.

I am playing with Carthage and in around the year 201 BC the game crashes.

I have seen a lot of crashes during my campaign, but I could return to the game and continue my campaign.

This crash I cant. I cant pass the year 201 BC!!! Its a bit annoying because I dont want to erase my campaign and if I download the hotfix I will surely loss it.

Any suggestion? Anyone has the same problem?

Thanks a lot =)

Couple of things you can try.

First save the game and exit your campaign. Load the save and end the turn. Try this with both the background script on and off.

If this dosen't work try saving then exitings EB. Restart the game try again, both with the background script on and off.

If your playing 0.80 or 0.81 there is a end turn CTD fix for rebelling settlements for both versions on the unofficial modding subforum.

The rebelling city CTD is by far the most recurring. Try installing one of these.

Don't know of any other methods. Hopefully one of the above will work.

Check and see if the town "Sulek" is rebelling (It can be found near baktria and saka, right on the edge of the map), if it is then this will be what is causing your CTD. I don't know how to fix it, but someone else will know.

I cant check out Sulek. It is impossible right now.

I am around Italy, Spain, and Africa. I dont have any diplomat nor spy near too.

BUT something weird happens that could be with Sulek.

The game starts the turns you know Saka, Averni, Ptolemaic, and when they reach the Seleukids the game crashes.

Maybe Sulek is owned by the Seleukids.

Are you playing 0.81 or 0.81a? If the latter, was map.rwm deleted before the campaign started?

Oleo had a fix for the rebel city problem that you can easily edit yourself ... and should be save game compatible as well. Check out the thread V.8.1a CTD thread I started in the technical problems section of EB that might help you.

I hope you can get around this because the thing that has always ruined my fun with this game is that every time there is some new version that I HAVE TO HAVE ... and so I have to start a new campaign ... I cannot tell you how many MANY times I have conquered Italy now.

:furious3:

Good luck!

I am playing 0.81 without the Hotfix. I didnt want to lose my campaign that was really going smooth.

Edit to say thanks to all that are helpimg me with this. =)

To check out Sulek you don't need a spy, just toggle of fog of war. Press the key which is (hopefully) under esc, type toggle_fow and the map will be made visible. Do the same thing to bring the fog of war back again.

upload your savefile at a free hostingservice like www.axifile.com (http://www.axifile.com) and someone can take a look.

The hotfix overwrites map.rwm, so you should be fine. There's only a problem if you try to play a campaign started BEFORE you installed the hotfix.

I took a look at your savegame, Eduorius. It was pretty interesting as it seems to have been saved during the ai-turns, cause when I load it up the AI are doing their thing.

Anyway, the problem is, as suggested earlier, the rebelling Arche Seleukeia city of Sulek. A fix for 0.81 is located here:

where is the rebelling city fix in the post?

Oleo

The file from axifile in the first post.

or just use this: http://www.axifile.com?1720059

copy this file in to your installation folder\eb\data after you renamed the original to something like export_descr_buildings_original.txt.

If you want to identify which city is rebelling, you must use the "rome_shell" (clicking "²" ) on your keyboard and disable the fog of war with the command "toggle_fow".

Then you can check what city is rebelling. (in general the faction who posses the rebelling city is the faction who should have played after the last who plays during the IA turn before the crash)

It does not give you the solution, but it gives you the origin. then you can try to solve it.

I think it is possible, but without the 0.81a patched version, if you want to keep your saved game (just like me), you must solve the problem yourself because it is unique.

If I find my own solution, may be I could help you.
