A KH recruitment question

I am playing Koinon Hellenon (obviously) and I just have a quick question about hoplitai recruitment. In Chalkis, a subjugation region, where I have a type III government, I can recruit classical hoplites, yet in Pella, another subjugation region, also with a type III government, I cannot recruit classical hoplites. Both cities also have an equal level barracks. Is Pella just an odd city, like Sparta, that has akward recruitment potential? By the way, I'm having a blast and have yet to come across one bug in .81 so thanks for the great mod, I just can't stop playing.

It's been so long under Macedonian rule (well, as the home of it, or however you want to say it) with so many of its men fighting for the Maks as sarissa bearing phalangites, that the old style of hoplite is not available as a native unit any longer there.

I have another recruitment question for the KH. Where is Iphikratious Hoplitai recruitment restricted to? Are they only available in the Balkans and parts of Italy and Syracuse?

I'm trying to figure out whether or not I should even bother with shipping them in from Greece for my wars in Asia Minor...

You can train them in Rhodos also. In any case, you can train new units and use them to replenish your veteran ones.
