Other than total conquest, does anything get added if I go on? Does it turn into the long campaign if I click on Yes on the Victory screen? Anything new at all?

I quite honestly don't worry about victory conditions. I just run a nation as I would run a nation, so once I meet victory conditions, I just continue on as I had as if they didn't exist.

You can keep playing if you wish, and eventually rule the world  :laugh4:

Thats actually my goal but does anything change? Does it turn into the long campaign after that? Anything special at all?

Not as far as I know (though I have a feeling that christian factions get a pope elected if the papacy currently sits empty)

Yeah, it is better to just start another campaign to experience a new faction instead of keep on playing your old one. It gets tiresome once your empire gets too large to keep track of everything and will get bored.

Nothing happens after you win except getting a massive permanent PO bonus.

And I agree with stopping sometime after winning... one turn as the Danes ruling 60 some regions at turn 50 (without properly rushing) takes about 1 and a half hours.

Haha. At 80+ regions you have to
1. Look at your queue and build new stuff
2. Check faction announcements and replace dead agents
3. Move your holy men around and kill heretics
4. Scour the map for rebels blocking roads and kill them
5. Move your armies
6. Build new units
7. Fight battles
8. Engage in diplomacy
9. Move/acquire merchants
10.Run from inquisitors
11.Obey missions.

Whew!

If you haven't experienced the joys of conquering the new World or explored the non-christian regions before completing a campaign then it's worht playing on to discover how to fight against other factions, discover new trading resources etc.

(probably not worth doing too many times though!)

Okay, that sold me, I will continue until at least the patch comes out and I should have all of that taken care of then.

I'm obsessed with the idea of total domination, so I always continue on after the quite trivial "victory". Admittedly, however, I've never actually reached that goal (in M2TW or the others) due to getting fed up the amount of micro-management required when you have that many settlements, haha. Right now I'm mostly on a break from M2TW because of waiting for the patch, though. The horrid cavalry pursuit AI for routing units just gets too frustrating. It still boggles my mind how things that were fine in Rome became broken in this game, ha.

Evidently you don't have the megalomaniacal motivation to conquer the world for the sake of it that drives the rest of us.
