Just some interesting info on AA.

Enjoy.
Interesting. I know I've come across the situation where enabling AA via the driver did nothing in certain games.... it can be a little frustrating.
Any word on if setting AA in the driver works with HDR in Oblivion?

I believe that you can set AA in the driver and then set HDR in the game and you will have both. I haven't played Oblivion in awhile, but iirc it does work. You could just grab yourself an 8800 and call it good too. :laugh4: Like we all have money for that...

(the 320MB GTS)
Oblivion still doesn't allow it in-game afaik w/HDR, but I imagine the card could handle it if I can get it enabled in driver.

Ahh you lucky dog!
Give it a shot. I would definitely think it would be able to handle HDR and AA at the same time.

Tried it on my 8800GTX and it definately works... Oblivion does not allow you to switch on HDR and AA so you switch on HDR and leave AA off...
Go to the 3D setting for Oblivion in the nVidia control panel and set it to Override Application (for AA)and your desired setting and it will look freaking fantastic...
Running it in 1920x1080 (on my 40" HDTV), x16AF, x8AA, max on all other settings and view distances... Really cool looking...

Very good, you'll need to send me your video card so I can verify this... for a year or two...

You can have the card, I want to test out the 40" HDTV. I always wondered how well they would double as a monitor. I get my 8800 tommorow. I cant wait to try Oblivion on it.

Fortunately, my bi-annual upgrade cycle begins in May this year, so I'll be getting a new PC about then. Unless ATI comes up with something REALLY good, I'll be joining you, Mr. Pointyhat, and blackaxe in the 8x00 Owners Club. Also can't wait to run Oblivion with the texture mods, right now if I try that on my 6800 ultra sli rig, it chugs along at about 10 FPS, even on medium to low settings.
