Making All Factions Playable

HOW do you make all of the factions playable including the Mongols, Timurids. i understand how to make the aztecs and papal states playable but not the emergant factions. :help:

You'll have to put them on the map or play hotseat (and let the game auto-pilot to the date they spawn)

By putting them on the map, do you mean that i need to place them in a specific spot in the descr strat? And how do i do "hotseat"
