the manual that comes with the game says interesting things about the pricesses and what they can do but i have played a campaign twice and all they do is to get shagged at the very begining and then they desappaired while u have other faction´s pricesses acting as hookers around.
Does anyone know if they can be used in any other way and most importantly HOW U GET MORE OF THEM?:laugh4:

Don't marry them off so early.

Princesses are female kids of your faction leader. If one comes of age she will be a princess. So they are not terribly common after the start. There's a narrow window for those born to come of age while Dad is still FL.

They make great early diplomats. I try to work their charm up making trade agreements and alliances in the early going (no upkeep diplomat!) then either try to swipe a nice other faction general (enemy factions are best!) near home (the general has to get back to friendly territory to be much use, usually), or marry the princess into a local faction's royal family to rubber cement a "marriage alliance," or marry her to a good general of mine that could use the loyalty boost. Sometimes she can give the general good traits too.

But princesses are very sidelined due to their rarity. CA spent a lot of effort on their traits and ancilliaries and they rarely come into play. Silly. Should have expanded the princess role to more than just FL girls coming of age.

I like also finding a nice one for my FH when I can. If she's really charming, that means he gets the fertile trait boost, and she can also bring other positive traits like "wife is fair."

let´s see if someone develops a mod in which the new born girls appear like an agent so we can shake their asses around and properly use them. Women have brought down politicians so they could also be seen like assessines.
A double edge sword and better that the actual assessines which are a pain in the ass to train.

One thing that annoys me is how you never get really good princesses. The starting "levels" are similar to regular diplomats, but you only get a short time to "level" her up further. I don't think I've ever been able to get more than 6 hearts on my princesses and the AI princesses are far worse.

I think a princess should start out having higher "level" than a mere diplomat. A princess grows up pampered (soft skin, nice hair, plump, etc) so she should be higher up on the attractive scale compared to filthy commoners unless she's downright ugly. She grew up knowing the ways of the royal court so she should start out with at least *some* diplomatic ability. Plus, her being a princess itself should add to her diplomatic ability. I think it would be more realistic to have all princesses start out with about 5 hearts unless she has an ugly trait or a snobby trait. Few other things to consider:
-What kind of a cheap ass king wouldn't buy his precious daughter cosmetics? Even if the king doesn't care for the daughter and cosmetics were expensive back then, her being more attractive would be beneficial for him politically. Same for combs. Same for daggers.
-If a princess has a secret lover, the other faction shouldn't know about it unless it sends a spy to her. Speaking of which, why is it so easy for the princesses to pick up secret lovers? Anyone with the cajones to seduce a princess better be a nobleman. If not, he should be able to be taken out by your assassin.

Hi dumas,
I'm sorry to disagree, yet, sadly, if princesses start out with a certain amount of charm by default then it would, in my opinion, unfortunately, make only a little difference to the game. Five charm would, very unfortunately, be like zero charm is at the moment with no real positive or negative effects due to all of your, and your foe's, normal princesses possessing it's usefulness right away. It could also make handy marriages too easy too get as well - in M:TW, I am sorry to say that I do not posses M2:TW, I find that the challenge of getting marriages adds to the fun and immersion of the game. Good luck with understanding my post which even I cannot understand, cheers!

I while I don't have issues with princesses like you do I still have an unrelated problem that relates to them. I am annoyed at the fact that only are able Christian countries can have them and use them to take enemy generals that are Christian and not of any other religion. It stinks that Muslim factions are unable to have/use them.

Probably something to do with Muslim women not being allowed outside unless accompanied by a chaperone - pretty hard to get your hand up her robe with some muscle bound bodyguard is busy chopping at the said hand with a scimitar.
