Dear All:
Good afternoon from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well.
Okay, guys, I'm at the end of my rope about the Inquisitors. Last time I played the game, one of those idiots murdered my English merchant for heresy!!! I was in Southern France, establishing new trade routes, when all of a sudden, one of the buggers comes up and stabs him. :furious3:
I want to know if there is something that can be done, besides killing them. Anybody got a less aggressive mod for these guys? They not only killed my merchant, but I also saw one of them kill the Spanish princess.
Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!!!
Sincerely yours always,
Indy.
You can mod them out entirely if you like. Or tone them down, cut back their rate of appearance, etc.
See the mod forum to learn more about the process.

Hi Indy1956,
Perhaps this useful thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=81601) could help you. Good luck with your inquisitor problems, cheers!
To be honest I regularly feed Priests, Merchants or any other agent at hand to Inquisitors to distract them away from my Generals.
I'll never forget the incident where one of them popped up and denouced my faction heir while he was leading a Crusade, with predictable results.

You could always wait for the 1.2 patch, which will tone down inquisitors even further than 1.1 did.

Well, I think the best remedy here is not to piss the pope off. I don't think i've had inquisitors in my lands in games where i've had good standing with the guy in the tall hat.

Dear All:
Greetings from Canada!!! I hope this finds you and yours well.
One quick question here, folks: When does the afore mentioned patch come out? I'm sick and tired of losing my people because of their twisted idea of heresy!!!
Live long and prosper, take care and thank you kindly!!!!
Sincerely yours always,
Indy.

i have observed that generals travelling with a priest that has a decent piety has a lower chance of getting roasted on a stake. always have a priest with your generals that have very low piety. however, this has a setback as priests travelling with an army or inside a city tends to be heretic.
however with the other chars(priest, princess, merchant, diplomat) should have high piety, charm, finance or influence to survive the inquisition.

Just don't get excommunicated??
Being on the Pope's good side doesn't stop the 'God Squad'. Inquistors regularly stray over the borders and attack anyone with impunity.
Though it is true that these incidents do tend to be much less frequent if you give the Pope enough indulgence money.
And while Generals with high piety or chivalry seem more likely to be found innoucent at trial, there's no 'double jeopardy clause', as one of my Faction Heirs found to his cost.

I think having been on trial lowers his stats or so it appeared when they took my next pope, 10 dots and I had the votes. Passed first trial and then got a 'shows doubts'? round 2. After that he was gone. Jest keep religion % higher than about 85% and you should be good. They may do a drive by on way to some other place but should not come to stay. SadCat
