How to add Thorakitai to Macedonians

Is there an easy way to add Thorakitai to the Macedonians? Because I want to start a campaign with them but just saw they can't build them. And, if there is no easy way, how hard would it be to add them myself?

To add them to the Macedonians you need to find the Thorakitai entry in the EDU and add 'macedon' to ownership.

This, however, still does not let you recruit them. To do that you need to look in the EDB and add them to the relevant MICs. This can be rather tricky, but probably the best would be to take the entries for Koinon Hellenon and copy and paste with macedon replacing greek_cities. Still, this can be rather tricky, so don't attempt it without making a backup first!

Ok... You 've got Hypaspistai, you 've got pheraspidai, you have Agrianikoi Pelekophoroi. All 3 units I consider better than Thorakitai... Why woud you need Thorakitai?

Because they are available earlier and are not so limited in regions. So I think if the Seleucid and every hellenic faction have them, Macedon should have them too.

Minor Question: Is it possible to recruit Pezhetairoi and other hellenic units in Bactria, Babylonia and Alexandreia? I think it is purely logical that they can be recruited there, but I just wanted to know. So if someone knows, please answer. And are Hysteroi Pezhetairoi available there too?

You can recruit Pezhetairoi in Baktria. However, Hysteroi Pezhetairoi is Makedonian only. So far as Babylonia is concerned, it doesn't exist, just Seleukeia. Since it is the Seleukids capital most of its units are recruitable.

Well, i meant the province Babylonia, with the provincial Capital being Seleukeia. Thanks for the info!

The faction. The unit represents a (last?) attempt of the Makedonians to adapt their phalanx forces to be able to fight off the Romans (as per the unit description). That's probably why the unit is unique to the Makedonian faction.

In the EB\Data folder, there is this folder called UI. Go to the subfolder Units and copy the data with thorakitai in name from the seleucids(fits the best I think) to the macedonian fodler, and do the same thing in the Units_Info folder.

Well, I think we understood us wrong again: I do know that hysteroi pezhetairoi are unique to the macedonians, but I asked if you meant that or if they are only recruitable in makedonian heartland.
