I wonder what it would be like? Firstly there of course would be more starter settlements per faction but im wondering what the "story" would be?

That would be interesting. Each faction starting out with a much larger empire. I would help with the problem of limited income with some factions in the beginning of the game.

What if on the contrary there were more rebel settlements and you had to pacify those before you could launch on taking the whole world ? :sweatdrop:

It could be justified, particurlarly when you know that in France in 1080 (starting date of MTW2 campaigns) many local fiefdoms were much more powerful and had more territory than the so-called French King (which controlled nothing more than the Ile-de-France, ie the region around Paris...) :book:

Well, historical accuracy will never be perfect in the TW series simply because it drops the fun level. Being the supposed "French King" wouldn't make sense if you didn't control most of modern day France ;)

If historical accuracy was the goal, however, I would like to see all the independant Italian cities battle each other. Then by the late 14th century the Medici's come in and...well I'm sure you all know the rest. Sadly thats a different time period though :(

For the sake of on-topic conversation I would like to see more rebel settlements, along the lines of what Tristan was saying. The late 10th/early 11th century was more of a time where kings tried to unite the lands around them.

I'd just like to see more factions. I think there should be at least 6 or 7 more in the game.

It would be a solution... Either more rebels or more factions representing the local lords...

Thinking along the lines of the Quentin Durward series of books with the Duché de Bourgogne (Duchy of Burgundy) opposing France (or what was referred as France at the time) and being a strong ally of the HRE

Agreed totally.

And really...where is BURGUNDY? The Medieval powerhouse that made France it's homeboy for centuries...

I wouldn't mind seeing you starting off as a King or even a Usurper in a Kingdom and then once you conquer your starting Country then you move on to a bigger map.

I love Atalus' idea. It would make for a very interesting game play. First having to battle your way to the larger world map.
