I had an unfortunate experience, CPU "fatal crash". Long story short, I had to reboot my CPU and I have lost everything I had in my HD.

Just like in Kipling's line, I'm building everything again.
Now, I need help from the community, since some modifications I made are now distant memories.

Right now, I'm busy re working the map and descr_strat (thankfully, I kept notes on paper)

Once I'm finished with this, I plan to leave questions in this thread, probably about how to integrate some features of mercXpack into VBM v4, bringing some "lost units" into the light and so on...

everything's going smoothly, I'll be testing my map tonight and then I'll edit ressource's locations.

I'm going to keep tracks of my work in this thread, I'm not trusting my CPU for the next few weeks.

- Map modding: eventually done, maybe...
- coordinates listing: all listed
- ressources placing: done
- ressources listing: done
- new units: preciously stored on some USB key
- reworked units stats: half done
- new buildings: done
- temples: done
- ancillaries: done

Alright, first question,
How do I get rid of Arcanii ? Which files must I deleted so that there's no trace left of them ?

Arcanii are now in the shadow of history (and beyond the trashcan of my CPU)
I'm nearly finished with the big work
and I'm getting impatient to play again

This might be a stupid answer, but if you're looking for Arcanii not to be playable in campaign or custom battles... deleting the arcanii entries in export_descr_unit & export_descr_buildings, I guess will suffice.

if you're wary of scripts that may refer to arcanii and get you to crash because you deleted the edu entry, an easy way to know if there are any is to search for all text files with "Arcanii" in your RTW folder.

I think it's funny that you want the arcanii, portrayed like ninjas in this game, to disappear 'without a trace' too.

I hadn't notice, now that you mention it

I barely used them and I prefer to make some room for future units.
Most roman uber cav units will go that treatment too.

It is known that the max entries for export_descr_unit is 500 and for descr_model_battle is 255, so you actually have a lot of leeway in terms of room for future units.
