View Full Version : ive had enough!!
First of all, this installed into the wrong file and made a activision folder, I uninstalled RTW and can't uninstall this.
First of all, how the **** do i uninstall this? And seco-ndly, WHERE IS THE CORRECT DESTINATION PATH? youd think after all this work the creators put in they would actually put the correct GODMAN destination
Woah! First, calm down. its a mod, not a product you paid £30 for, so chill out. Be happy that it is free, and give us a fricking break. The correct destination is the folder in which you have installed RTW. Now there are several different versions of the game, some install into an activision folder, others into SEGA. In addition, seeing as how most people have several copies of RTW on their computer, we can't really specify where they should put it.
Find the folder where you installed RTW, in it you should find the RomeTW.exe. That is the folder you want to install EB into.
As for uninstalling, you just need to use the install program to uninstall it as far as I know.

As Foot said, not all RTW installs to the same place, so it is your own fault if you do it wrong, not the makers of the mod. Regular RTW will install to Activision, and Gold edition will install to The Creative Assembly, it is your job to point it to the right directory.
Also, the creators of this mod, as well as any other mod, do not deserve to be flamed because you don't know how to install it. They put a lot of time and energy into this, and I think if they can basically make a new game, the players can at least manage to install to the right directory.:beam:

FootOk, ill try that, but one problem is when i unistall it it freezes and doesn't respond. Thanks for that information. Also, I never actually flamed the makers of this mod. I was just a little frustrated.

Actually, I think that counts a bit like a flame.

Would have to agree...That did come off to me rather flam-ish..Understand you were probably frustrated in trying to get your installation to work properly..However for future reference you should keep in mind that bad installations are 99.9% of the time due to error on the part of whoever is installing the mod. In this case you...It happens the .org forums are very helpful for people who have questions, problems...etc..etc..Especially so here on the EB sub-forum. People are more inclined to be helpful of others when they ask for help in a more diplomatic way..shall we say??..As oppose to coming right out of the gate swinging and flaming sort of speak..As if it were the fault of the developers that your mod has not installed correctly..When in fact..The fault was in all likelihood your own. EB is truly a great mod so it is definitely worth the installation...Good Luck

The uninstall does take awhile as far as I know, so you might want to leave it for longer.

Sorry, but this sounds like the usual "check the guide" stuff. Ah yes, people hate to read guides...

You can also delete it manually first and then let the EBinstaller remove it again (yes, again); that way it won't take long.

I have taken that into account, so I provided step by step screenshots for the uninstalling part. If you blindly follow the instructions everything *should* be fine - though that's exactly what should be the case when you blindly follow the instructions in the anouncements.

Yes, I havent, and right now everyone regards EB as Gods work and I dont know why.
@Tellos Athenaios, my problem is not a simple uninstall, its crappily complicated and I mih=ght as well buy a new CD of RTW, but still fail in my attempt to play EB.
I am a walking bad luck guy:skull:

I'm sorry for any misinterpreting here, but my remarks were specifically meant for the uninstall - and the fact that the thread creator could have easily uninstalled his build by following this guide I wrote.

This will sound extremely flamish, but at the moment I am unbelievably angry with Europa Barbarorum.
WTF IS WRONG WITH THIS ****ING MOD!?!?!??!?!
I tried your guide, following the instructions to the ****ing letter, AND THE ****ING THING STILL WON"T WORK!!! I've tried everything. I followed your guide to the letter, tried un/re-installing the mod, downloading it from different sites and then un/re-installing the mod, un/re-installing both RTW and BI and IT NEVER WORKS!!!! I have RTW Gold edition, which comes patched to 1.5 out of the box, and I always made sure it was at 1.5 before installing EB, so this is not the problem. Nothing I do works and I'm really frustrated and hate EB for now.
In the thread you made about installing EB (with screenshots provided) I posted a step-by-step account of what I did and in what order, so any help you guys can provide with that information would be really nice.
PLEASE HELP ME!! I'M BEGGING YOU! I WANT TO PLAY THIS AWESOME MOD!

I'm sorry if I insulted or offended anyone with the above post, I was extremely frustrated and angry at the moment.
I apologize for my post, and would hope that I can escape being banned.
Still, any help with my problem would be appreciated, and I have posted a full step-by-step process of what I did, when I did it, and how I did it. Any help would be extremely appreciated, since I really want to play this awesome mod.
btw, to the guy I quoted, I am very sorry for quoting incorrectly. I thought of the wrong guide and would like to apologize for quoting the incorrect message.

^^ Replied to your post in the Install Guide thread. Patience is the key to EB. It takes forever to make, and it takes considerable time to load as well. Why, our unofficial tagline is: "It's done when it's done."

OMG! its another me!!!!
Yes EB has those unbelievable WTF!?!?! moments. As soon as you accept this maybe your anger will go away, also, dont keep your hopes up, I did this and...
My best bet is to find an ooolllddd version of RTW (activision) EB was based on this and for me it worked ( except when EB was in a crappier stage full of start up bugs:laugh4: )
My attempts were many, my successes none.
