It's going to be free, and they've just released a demo. Good fun, and the multiplayer is nice if you can avoid lag.

Yeah, been looking forward to this. Freespace 2 mods can be pretty awesome, such as Wing Commander Saga.

I've also been looking forward to this ever since I stumbled upon it a few weeks back. Looks great. Hope it plays well on my system. Probably won't though!

It should be good, and I don't think there'll be many issues with older computers since Freespace 2 is an old engine itself. Personally speaking I have high hopes of the Homeworld 2 Battlestar Galactica mod, Fleet Commander. (http://battlestarmod.com/)

Wow that looks cool. Seems fitting BSG should be made into a mod for a Homeworld game, considering the original HW game was highly influenced by BSG in the first place. Perhaps this is the excuse I need to finally get HW2 after having not bothered so far.

I quite like HW2. The UI is a lot easier to use than HW1's, and despite the fact that frigates rapidly become less than useful in later stages of the game, strikecraft such as bombers, interceptors and gunships are of great use.

I love it. Just need a person of my level to play with me online, and it would satisfy me.

I love HW2. I love BSG. I love this thread.

But did they have to put the Requiem for a Dream music at the end of the trailer? Let's just say I don't think of space combat when I hear that...

 Off topic

:laugh4: I'm going to try the HW2 mod when I get back to school after this weekend.
