Hi

I had an idea that probably has been yet presented before.

The idea is linked to the system of religions seen in BI, but substituting the religion and their effects with cultures, such as Hellenic culture, Persian culture and Roman culture.
Doing so we could have something much more suited to the period of EB campaign, without loosing this nice element of gameplay introduced by BI.

What you think about this?

Well, in MTW2 Kingdoms, the Eastern European campaign restricts unit construction by religion. I support the use of that feature in EB2.

It's harder than it looks...

First, you would have to use only 3 cultures (a western "civilized" one, an eastern "civilized" one and a generic "barbarian"?).

Second, unlike vanilla balancing is extremely difficult as proximity bonuses can be easily higher than 20% in many areas.

Third, you most likely will need a global order bonus system rebalancing as factions like the seleucids would crumble in no time...

Last but not least, a full culturalization system would also partially invalidate the AOR system, meaning that you would find threads like "I got 100% hellenism in england but I can't train hoplites!!!" or in the inverse case "i've built this building and now I can train unit xxx even though the culture in that land is 90% yyy, this is ahistorical!"...

Conclusion: adding such a thing is an huge pain even in smaller mods like XGM, if you try it with EB it would be hell...
