i don't know if anyone posted about it so I decided to write about it.
On polish total war site one of users explained how to unlock hotseat without 1.2

Hot seat is implemented at least into 1.1 You don't have to buy MTW2Kingdoms or download patch. You simply have to unlock hot seat into your config file

[multiplayer]
playable = 1
hotseat_turns = 0
hotseat_scroll = 0
hotseat_autoresolve_battles = 0
hotseat_disable_console = 0
hotseat_disable_papal_elections = 0
hotseat_save_prefs = 1
hotseat_update_ai_camera = 1
hotseat_validate_diplomacy = 1

After that you are able to play great campaign with more than 1 nation.

As for now no bugs found.

Looks like Sega does not tell us everything :)

Its been posted already the day patch 1.1 came out and there are countless topics about it in the citadel and the modding forum.

I have yet to try it so out of curiosity how many nations can be played hotseat style? 2? More?

You can theoretically play as everyone.

Also, iirc hotseat will not be coming with 1.2 but rather with the expansion.

Yes that seemed to be the gist of it over at the official forums. Trying to add hotseat to 1.2 was making it take forever ("unforeseen consequences" I guess - wonder how many will get the reference), so they are releasing 1.2 w/o it and instead including it in its entirety for the expansion. However what's been posted here already seems correct to me - we really do have hotseat already in M2TW, you just have to set the game up correctly and change which faction(s) you control with the correct console command. Be careful though as it's possible to make yourself control NO nations, in which case the game goes on auto-pilot.
