Killing 6 Birds with 1 stone...killing 6 family member-generals with 1 seige:

*The messages on the left are all from the death of a Getai family member.
After this battle, the Getai faction was "destroyed" and all their cities rebelled. :D

EDIT: Getai had around 4-6 cities. For some reason, they had their capital right along my borders... This was my FIRST battle against the Getai too.

So I basically destroyed a faction with a single, first battle. :)

Huzzah! Just how many cities did they have at the time? I usually find that the AI spreads its family out, making it damnably hard to end the faction outside of total conquest.

I think a faction is destroyed if both the faction leader and heir die in the same battle.

Good job, that should save you a lot of trouble. IIRC I've never lost a battle against the Getai but I usually take great casualties when fighting them. Crazy drapanai...

Something about eggs and baskets comes to mind. Nasty way for a faction to go, really.

No, two random guys will be given leader and heir when both current die at the same time. You have to kill every last member of a family to kill the faction. And when the AI gets down to one or two family members, Captains will get promoted without have a "man of the hour" even. So it is very hard to destroy a faction my family loss unless you corner a half dozen guys in one city.

Triumph column? Can it be a custom made column? Then I want an Egyptian style obelisk engraved with Latin numerals, along with Kanjii/Chinese characters, mounted on a Greco-Roman style platform. Also, plate the whole thing with gold leaf mined from the sub-Saharan provinces.

:) :D :)

:( But that's just called "scavenging" a trumph column.

I'm pretty sure Philipvs Vallindervs Calicvla said "build."

You can role play it. Some sort of religious festival where the nobility from all the Getai lands attends every year...or something like that.

I'm sorry, but for roleplaying, I lack imagination...I prefer something more materialistic...like an unique triumph column in the Getai capital. :)

lacking imagination ?

with a memorial column and Getai's habit to impale sacrifice to Zamolxis, there's material for something though

Some "Impaled Getai" in the stead of the "Dying Gaul" ?

I don't think the decaying corpses of dead Getai soldiers will serve well as building material for a "lasting" triumph column.

but I suppose it'll have to do... :/
