Over on the totalwarforums.com someone has posted a link to a file that is hosted on downloads.jolt.co.uk, claiming to be Update 2 for M2TW.
Nobody has verified it as being legit yet, but the site it's on seems respectable. I don't want to provide the link myself, in case it isn't, but I'm downloading it and will scan it.
Anyone know anything? If it's legit I'll update the post. It will take me about an hour to DL it, though. ;(

Haha! This must be a bad time to be named "Joker" eh? :laugh4:
I hope it is genuine.

Okay Ive had a quick whip around the other Total War forums and it seems like this may indeed be the real deal. Im downloading it now.

LOL... not joking! Just hope it's not a tease...
And yeah, there are people talking about it over at twcenter, too. But nobody has said outright that it's the one. The file size is 613 MB, but the last word from CA was that the patch would be 629 MB.
I'm at 44%... 43 mins to go.

Okay some guy at the bottom of this page (a regular contributer) claims it is the patch http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=85028&page=63
Im at 20% myself.

Yeah, I just saw that myself. He has 484 posts and says it's real, so my hopes are high. I'm at 51% but the rate is slowing. That's what I get for being a nice guy and sharing the news before I finished... :laugh4:

Sadly on the same page I just saw this:
"This isn't the real deal it seems. I installed it and what not, but all it did was make medieval crash when you played a siege battle. It didn't fix billmen either. These were my first test and now I deleted my game because something was clearly not right. I hope it didn't give me anything more nasty."

Now there's a post in that thread from someone saying it ISN'T real and he crashed trying a battle. Still no reliable final word. The file's being a different size from the 629MB CA said it would be still has me concerned.
The dl page wouldn't even open for me. Don't know why.

Okay now someone is saying that that guys error was because he is in the US and the patch is for the UK version.
To hell with it. The only way Im going to know for sure is by trying it.

A curse upon your damp little island, you lucky UKers you.
Not that it matters; for me, it stalled out at 20%, and the DL site was down when I went there again.
Argh, my first loss of the download.
All those silly flash/shockwave ads on the fileshack/gamespot sites slowed firefox to a crawl and killed it.
And now the jolt.co.uk site is 404ing on me :wall:
Wow, I feel like a hardcore fan right now, though.:2thumbsup:

History is in the making, my friend, but we have failed to take proper safety measures before using the Bandsaw of the Ages.

Debate continues on whether it's UK-only, on the twcenter thread linked above. The first guy who said it was real continues to report that all is well (and that pikes work right).
Also, people are pointing out that 1.1 had only one english-language version, so it would be odd if this patch had one for UK alone. All that being said, my download looks to have frozen at 325 MB.

Here's an interesting thing. Although you can't get the patch there yet, Gamershell lists it as being 613.58MB as well.

Heh, how strange it feels to know that there are hundreds of other people around the world thinking the exact same things as I am right now.

CA have made it perfectly clear on the official forum that the patch is international (i.e. will work with every language version), so if genuine the debate about UK only is moot.
I hate it when download sites stuff up and then realise just as i am starting to DL.
Must be related to Lusted, he's always teasing me too.

Is it worth getting this one or waiting?
Wah!:help:
I think we'll wait until CA announces the patch officially
