Some people will disagree with me but I would choose EB over RTR. Of course, both are excellent mods (and I'm not just saying that), and you could always make two copies of RTW so you can enjoy both.
For realism, the best is Europa Barbarorum.
Ok, I've gone with RTR because EB won't let me download but now I can't start the game with RTR I get a message saying Error:Filename doesn't exist:eOa? then a square. Can't someone help me?

Why can't some people just stick with a good game and stop altering it?

Because they think they can make a good game better, and it works...sometimes

And don't quote yourself! It's the internet version of answering yourself!
And why try to make a good game better? Leave it to the professionals, I say...

Why?, because some of us (like myself) want to have a more realisticly accurate game and enjoy that more then the quite obvious unrealism of Vanilla.
Besides CA has stopped working on RTW, its not gonna get any better so why not make it better ourselves...
Besides vanilla is boring, played it for awhile then got bored, tryed out RTR, was nice then after awhile got bored and saw EB, been playing that ever since.

On your desktop screen there is usually a icon saying EB, just double click on that.
If there is no cion then go to where you installed it and find the small icon there.
Ok. I've started it but I get an erroe message it says: error:filename does not exist eoa?then a square. Any help?

@XehhII Have you installed your EB into where your RTW.exe is?
(RTW.exe is the small icon for Rome Total War, which you double click on to run the game, it should be where you installed RTW)
Yes I have a new problem, it's in my last post.

Hi Xehh II,
May I suggest that you uninstall R:TW and try again following this very useful guide (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=80270). It, hopefully, should help you install EB and play sucessfully. Good luck, cheers!

Is there a mod that replaces the Roman factions with a single "Rome", but doesn't mess with anything else?

I am pretty sure there isn't, Rocketman, so I would advise that you also download and play EB. EB has all sorts of interesting factions to play, including the all-powerful (and undivided) Romani faction. Trust me, you will love it. :rtwyes:

I saw it has a different map. Will it mess up Barbarian Invasion?
Warluster

No, it only affects RTW. (If you install it right)
And the map is much, much larger.

EB's way too much for me. Thanks anyway, though.

I don't know about the incomplete side of RTR, as I've nevr played.
EB though is mostly complete (from what I know)
I am pretty sure EB has aor. Don't know, if you have any other questions you can ask them at the EB forums here:
EB Forums (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=70)
:Or keep asking here, though the people at the EB forums can answer your harder questions.

I am pretty sure EB has aor.Yep, it certainly does. However the EB AoR (Area of Recruitment) is much more complex than that of R:TR. I don't understand it especially well, so I cannot really describe it too you in fear of going wrong, so, perhaps these two threads (The FAQ (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=63634) and the 0.8 Military Explanation (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=73928)) could aid in the understanding of how it works.
As much as I'm a fan of the classic EB and RTR, why not try something else like that SPQR mod or Roma Surrectum (lol, rectum).

There is no AOR in EB. AOR means that many units shares the same recruitment area (from my understanding).
In EB we have system that lets every unit and every faction in every unit if neccessary have totaly unique AOR.
So basically in EB we have like 700 to 1000 (only estimate but 700 easily) unique AOR witch makes this term totaly useless.
