Little extraction from the article:
Opposing Fronts will once again be set against the backdrop of WWII and feature two new playable factions. In two full single-player campaigns, players will control the British 2nd Army's liberation of Caen, France, and the German Panzer Elite's battle against airborne forces.

CoH: OF, the expansion to CoH, but I've also read somewhere that it would be stand-alone. Two new single-player campaigns, bahahah!

The Germans (Panzer Elite) will have the following doctrines: Verbrannte Erde, Luftwaffe, and Panzerjäger.
The British will have Royal Canadian Artillery, Royal Commandos, and Royal Engineers, as doctrines.

*laughs eagerly like a happy young kid waiting for Christmas day!*

Uh oh Relic decided to open the commonwealth conundrum. :hide: I forsee only problems with this. :wink3:

I'll be buying this though. For sure.

Really surprised the Russians aren't part of this at all. Was really expecting an Eastern Front expansion with German and Russian forces.

I was expecting a pacific expansion.
But still nice that the germans will get a campaign.

I loved CoH and will love this I'm sure. Although its standalone if you already have CoH you get more multiplayer options.

Heh heh heh, problems? :beam:

Any case, as much as I wanted to have the Soviets in the game, I'm still glad and eager to get this expansion, especially because now the Germans will have an airforce doctrine, and those other ones (Verbrannte Erde, and Canadian Artillery) sound so damn good... I love artillery combined with offensive play. I left CoH for a while but now that I've started playing again, I again remember why many praise it. *sniff* It's so beautiful... *wipes away a tear*

Yes problems. As Auzzies and Kiwi's will moan about how the Canadians are included.

Try the battle of legends mod. It re-adjusts the pop-cap given by control points. Adds some "new" units (double sized Volks grenadier, engineer and Riflemen squads +AA guns for anti-infantry) and makes German squads the same size as allied ones.

Stupid Canadians! Why do they get included and we don't!

I demand an "Attack Gallipoli" option! :furious3:

Hah hah hah :laugh4:

Hey lars, I'm gonna check out that mod you mentioned. I don't know if my computer can handle the "bigger settings" of numbers, though. I'm happy about the game as it is generally, though I'd just like the German Grenadiers and Stormtroopers to consist of 5 men, not 4 (or maybe even 6). If there's only an easy way to mod it myself...

Use Relics mod tools. My PC can handle the higher man count. And the double sized volks grenadier and riflemen aren't that useful. They don't benefit from veterancy. The super engineer squads are, even if they don't get veterancy either. But the fact that you can build flak 88's and 105 howitzers and heavy tanks (Tigers and Pershings) with any doctrine is a huge bonus.

All that doing with mods and mod tools is not good for me. I'm too impatient for this kinda stuff :laugh4: I think I'll just let it go :)

DAM, I wanted Russians, not british (Even though I'm British My self) Because "Russianing" (Alternative for Rushing) Would be so much easier, but still balanced, (SEE THOSE PENAL BATTALION TROOPS FALL LIKE FLYS!)

This is a Relic RTS. They could easily do another expansion with the Russians.

I was listening to the podcast announcement. And they talked about the new armies. The British are going to be the turtles best friend. As they get a lot of defensive structures (like slip trenches for your infantry) and have a butt load of artillery. They even have the creeping barrage ability. While the Panzer elites (which I suspect is code for Waffen SS) get all the uber tech/elite units. Like falshrimjagers and King tigers.

Excellent, might buy CoH now!

But to whoever thought it was to be a Eastern Front one or Pacific one, thats a bit far fetched!

If they were to do that then they'd ahev to design compltely new building sets, units and stuff. Also new landscapes and areas.

Whereas with this one they can just churn it out and make copies of the already there factions and tweak 'em a bit.

And aslo, how we Aussies never get a mention, I am gonna form the Group fo Complaining Australians who demand for a mention of Australia in video games. Or GCAWDAVG if you want the short version.

Well Relic is a Canadian developer. I'm sure if they were Auzzie's if would be attack force Z instead of the Commandos.

I'm going to start a Counter Group Called "Yeah, We Know the Aussies and Kiwis never get included in Games. I mean, they were good fighters and all, but honestly... If you want to be included in a game, maybe you should start your own developing company, really its not all that difficult, you just need some Programmers, A Few Graphics Designers, and maybe a couple of Beta Testers. Then You can purposely not include Italians just to spite them."
