I don't mean "Who is your favourite faction?" but which campaign of yours have you enjoyed the most and why? What made it special?

Im actually currently enjoying playing a campaign as Spain (M/VH, Im not a wimp but I like reasonable diplomacy). Ive been trying to be ultra-chivalrous. I have taxes set on lowest, always release prisoners, always pay ransom, don't use spies or assassins etc.
Man Ive had some super chivalrous generals under my command thus far. Shame I carelessly send them to their doom in an effort to make them perform heroics (for a laugh).
The Moors have been incredibly easy so far. They appear to have no armies. In a stupid move the French blockaded one of my ports apparently just because it was there. This has resulted in a twenty year war where thus far, we haven't even met. Madness. But all good for a laugh.
Then Portugal came out of nowhere and attacked (which they were excommunicated for). Despite them only having two provinces I must commend them, they are resisting me. And I can't remember the name of the province but it's the one North of Spain at the beginning, has a beautiful castle. Superb design.

Playing the Turks currently and not enjoying it much. Simply cant stand their infantry units but thats different subject. I played the Papal States before the Turks and that campaign I enjoyed very much so that was my last enjoyable campaign. Its not a hard faction to play but its different. You cant crusade but you do get to use the Inquisitors which is fun. Go around and test all the general's faith and if they fail, bye-bye general!

You dont need Castles. Just towns. Towns will let you build Papal Guards or Swiss Guards. Both are good but the Swiss Guards just own as front linemen. Nothing gets past them basically. Pavise Crossbow Militia can also be recruited in towns and they have the same stats as the regular Pavise Crossbow men recruitable in Castles. I did the short campaign which is 80 territories. I had three castles total and the rest were towns/cities. Castles just arent needed unless you want other armored units that are built there.

An army of Swiss Guards, Papal Guards, Pavise Crossbow men, a couple of siege weapons and a couple of cavalry units and a general will pretty much take down anything you throw at it. I never did get to the Timurids so not sure how they would be to fight against.

I have played Venice, Scotland and England and out of those, I just have so much more fun playing England. I know you didn't ask for favorite factions, just favorite Campaign but it seems that throughout history, England has always been "the ENEMY" that everyone must guard against. Because I am a villian in games, this suits me just fine. Although I am SEVERELY DISAPOINTED WITH THE NEUTTERED BILLMEN this time around (I posted several times about how much I loved that unit in MTW) I just love half archer armies and raining arrows down upon the enemy. Because of the lack of fire arrows in crossbows, I dislike crossbows.

So, my English campaign is by far my favorite so far. I have taken over all of Spain and Western Europe all the way to HRE headquarters and most of the time, I had a war on two fronts. I just love being with England and I know eventually I will get bored and move on, theres just nothing like it.

Turk was my least favorite campaign so far. I hate all their early units. I don't like fighting with horse archers and their peasants suck. The territory is also hard to manage with all those mountains and long distances between settlements.

It gets better once you have Janissary and Ottoman infantry though. Controlling Constantinople also provides a great choke point against all western forces while you concentrate on Egypt.

I abandonned that campaign before seeing gunpowder and mongols so I'm sure a missed alot.

My favorite campaign was Spain so far even if I never got a Knight of Santiago guild.

hmmm England, HRE, Scotland, Denmark.... out of all of these probably Denmark has been the most enjoyable next to england, Its been the first game I played with the little fixes I use below, and its been a total riot most of the time. I actually have a Vassal! Scotland after betraying me for the second time was defeated and I had 2 full stacks just outside edinborough, I told him he should become my vassal and he agreed, I gave them enough cash to get back onto a good footing with them (my economy is supreme, I own all the baltic sea territories except for Thorn which is held by poland one of my longest standing allies. I also own England except for Edinborough and Iverness... which I can live without. I got the Veil of Veronica in a crusade once.... and lost it 30 years later when someone I didn't want to die in battle, did just that. But I wasn't going to redo a battle where I only just managed to make a full mongol army stack rout with 3 of my armies.

Oh and when 3 factions delcared war on me, and the papal states excommunicated all 3 and declared war on them.... that was priceless. I gave him 45k florins once to see what he would do... Papal states is now working on owning Venice Genoa Milan and trying to work into the other territories nearby lol. At one point HRE was almost dead, but then I found a german princess with 4 charm, and so married her to my new faction heir, nearly twice his age but worth it for a decent bride. Now the HRE has gone from 2 territories to 1, and now its back up to about 4-5! talk about a surprise comeback, the Spanish destroyed the moors, and then sicily declared war on me, and so I went on a crusade all the way to tunis and won, and then spain declared war on me xD, right now I'm trying to get sicily to accept a Vassalship demand, even though they only got 1 territory left they aint agreeing :(

I've played Spain, Byzantium, Poland, Venice, England, and Scotland (aside from some dabbling with just about every other faction). I think the Polish campaign was the most exciting one so far. That was the first campaign where I actually made it to gunpowder and the New World, and it was one of those rare campaigns where I really thought I was a goner for awhile, thanks to the insanely aggressive Danes and the slightly-less-aggressive-but-still-annoying Hungarians. I turtle, so that made things more interesting I'm sure. Eventually though I managed to hold my own and claw my way back (after losing Krakow and only holding 2 or 3 settlements), and handed Denmark a series of defeats. When I left the campaign the Timurids had emerged and were causing me problems in Russia, but I never fought them on the battlefield because I was frightened of the CTD. Anyway, the Poles are good fun; highly recommended.

A short campaign as the Danes was real fun. Nothing like cutting your way south all the way to the Adriatic!

Currently I've been playing ALOT as the Scots. They have just about the best starting position you can imagine. I think next game I'll be trying either the Egyptians or the Turks. I've heard you can get Elephants, but I haven't been in a position to yet, and I really want to try them out.

I would favor the French...

Lots of hvy cav (like the thunder of hooves as they charge the enemy line)... Rather cool starting position rather easily defended once you acquired the few rebel settlements around your starting territories... Lots of potential allies or enemies, not too far from the Pope...

Moreover, I really like the the Maurice Chevalier-style French accent, being French and playing a US/UK localized version of the game... The battles speeches are reall worth their money...

I'm quite a slow player (as I micro-manage) but I might be considered as blitzing...

I'm on the brink of winning my first short campaign as France as the English King and sole member of the royal family is currently besieged in York, the gunpowder just appeared and I will perhaps go on playing to see what's what...
