I'm sure many of you search for something on Google, often no doubt. Now, many use Google like an encyclopedia, taking the first page of info, maybe the first five.
Others no doubt go into the dark depths of Google, beyond the haloed 10-page mark, farther into the crevasse, past the 25, 50, 75. Deep into the dark pits of information.

Which one do you go by? Convenience? Search for Truth? How do you search Google?

I usually use the first 10 or so links, however if I am looking for something specific then I will go as far as I need to.

Depends on what I'm searching for. Sometimes the first couple of links. Sometimes 10-20 pages.

If what I'm looking for doesn't appear in the first or second page, I've obviously tried the wrong search, and so I rephrase my question.

Depends on what i'm searching for and what I'm getting back (ambiguous terms). I'll rather tried to refine my search than to look through all the pages. Though I have, on occasion, found some good things on page 5 or so.

One things that's annoying is that Google isn't case sensitive, very annoying when looking for specific abbreviations :furious3:

I remember that there is another site called dogpile or something like that which compiles all of the major search engines into one, google, yahoo, msn, ect... That I suppose should be better for searching than any of the individual search engines

I'll go 10-20 pages if I'm serious about the search and am not happy with the first several pages. If I get too much junk or unexpected, unrelated results, I'll alter my search criteria and try again to remove the chaff.

I try to limit my search by being very specific, so my result won't get more than 5-10 pages.

Me too, only I won't go beyond 5 pages without re-phrasing my terms - except if I seek an image; then 20 pages = OK.

If I can't find what I'm looking for in the first 10 answers, I change my search and try again.
