A list/map showing each factions Type I/II areas? I would swear I saw one but for the life of me can't remember where. This is mainly b/c I test drove the Maks today (mmmmm....) and I took Kallatis, which is a city they have to take (I believe), yet I can only install a Type III/IV gov (and Maks 3 and 4 are NOT pretty in the PO dept). I would have thought that it would rate a Subjegation/Type II. Plus it makes me think my hair-brained idea of ignoring Asia Minor and the recurring grey elephant and pulling a Yukon gold rush with the Maks and heading for the Bosphorian territories is just that. Which is sad, since I liked the thought of crushing pitiful steppe armies with my beautiful Mak armies (and also those yummy pathetically defended Baltic territories). Cuz if Kallatis is considered Outlying I see no reason why the Bosphorian poleis wouldn't be either.

Also, I remember a thread a little while ago that mentioned possibly doing a gradated AI money bonus (in part because of the recurring AS steamrollings) and since my search-fu is weak at the moment, I haven't found it. In any case, I was wondering if anyone ever implemented that bit of script and checked the results? If not, I'm perfectly willing to give it a whirl, as long as I am pointed in the right direction. I'm getting tired of seeing the grey beast repeatedly; it seems that the only times the AS doesn't pile drive the Ptolies is when they lose quite a few critical battles early on, or somehow (only happened once ever with me) sign a peace treaty with the Ptolies (and it lasted over 40 years too!). Which implies some tweaking needs to be done (ironic since I read that the Ptolies were the steamrollers up until 0.8 I believe).

Anyways, just my tired ramblings; I'm sure I forgot something:dizzy2:.

As for the script. I think MarcusAureliusAntonius had some of the best results if I recall correctly. You might want to PM him and ask what changes he made to the money script.

I think you want to search EBBS_Script.txt for "add_money" or possibly "add money".

@ Errant: Well carses, that map says Kallatis should be an L2 for me. Though it is stated that it is a WIP map (albeit a WIP from 8 months ago or so). So I guess perhaps Kallatis was changed. If so, can anyone say why?
@ Bovi: Thanks, I'll have to see what that turns up.

If MAA could drop in and say whether he has had good results with tweaking that, and specifically whether he set up a gradated system, I'd be much appreciative. If you HAVE, then I'll definitely be PMing for details and some other pertinent Q's regarding that (I do have some other ideas regarding AI financing taht I may want to play with).

Blame the moderators for not updating the maps. As a Sabyn fanatic, my factions government types don't even have a map, so I'm limited to trial and error. And crushing disappointments when I find out I can't put a decent government in place anywhere outside my desert or that no matter how high I upgrade my reagional MIC:s I will never, ever get even the most basic greek pikeman or even the lightest egyptian cavalry.

If you figure out a way to modify the money script to make it more balanced and keep the Seleucids from steamrolling everybody send me a copy, please.

On the thread where it was discussed were a lot of tests but no one posted a definite working script that balanced the factions out. Some of the best ideas had something to do with the more provinces the AI owned the less income per province he would get.

It's me. I've just got too much else I'm trying to do to help push the mod forward. And that map is like 460 freaking megabytes big. I hate even opening the crazy thing anymore and my computer gets angry when I do.

So it is not intentionally that Kallatis is an Outlying Region? Because I always wondered about that too.
