Is there a way to get rid of the annoying General death/Wall Breach/Gate Breach videos in the battle screen?

I've been wondering about the same thing and in RTW is was possible by pressing ESC but it doesn't quite work for M2TW.

In your medieval.preferences.cfg file, look for the following section...

[game]

In which you'll find this entry...

event_cutscenes = 1

Change the 1 to a 0, save, and make the cfg read only.

Oh GREAT !... no more chaos when I'm running at X3 timescale and suddenly some general dies and people are running around and I can't issue any commands !!!

Meanwhile the enemy army is routing on X3 scale... omg ! It is cool to watch but it's a tactical disaster.

Yup and exceedingly horrible during siege battles where it zooms really close into the city and once even cause my M2TW to lock up completely (or maybe fps was so close to 0 that it didn't move anymore)
