the first part was shown on itv 4 for those of you in the uk. the next part is tommorow i believe.

has anyone seen this? it is a few years old (2001) and stars gerald butler who is leonidas in 300.

it was ok - though there seemed to be scant regard for historical accuracy unfortunately. also the production standards seemed kind of cheap when compared to the recent Rome series.

Yes I have seen it....... terribly, horribly innacurate in almost every respect you can think of. The producers were probably just trying to make money off of the recent "Rome craze" that started in 2000 with the release of Gladiator.

I still found it very entertaining though, I would recommend it unless you absolutely can't stand 2nd Century Roman legionaries who never throw their pila and Gauls with horned helmets......

yes the charging with javelins was one of the more bizzare parts

It's almost a chick flick in my view... I'd recommend you watch it once, just to say you had. You may end up enjoying it.
