Hi mods and admins :) (and fellow members)
I've just edited the topic title of one of my topics using the advanced edit option, but the title on the board still displays as the old one and only when you actually open the topic itself will the new title be displayed only on the first post.
Affected topic:

Figure something can be done about it and future edits?

I believe the title edit for members only edits the post title not the thread title?

I'm guessing it should work for the thread title if you are the thread creator. I mean I can even change the type of topic it is (I think that actually worked before - I was able to make a thread title a hint from an observation)
Nope, iirc it doesn't work for members

Thanks :)
While still a member, I have been able to change the title of a thread within the first few minutes of posting it, so it is (or was) possible.

I remember when I posted the most ridiculous thread and completely changed it's topic before the time ran out and before anybody else saw it!
I think someone (Tosa, or a mod) once said you can change the title on the thread until someone posts a reply. Once there are 2 posts in a thread, only mods can change the title. I think. Anyone willing to verify?

I can confirm for a short time afterwards you can change the title.

I think it's similar to post editing; if you see a typo in your submitted post and edit it within about 60 seconds, no "edited by..." remark appears. Any later, and the "edited by..." remark displays. So I'd estimate a less-than 1-minute grace period. Once the Org clock clicks over to the next minute number, the concrete has set.
I think. :laugh4:

I think you are spamming the thread, huh?:D
I think you can change after someone post a reply.

Maybe. But the above is my true experience.

Only in my assigned forum (backroom). Frontroom, Entrance Hall, here: I can only edit my own posts, same as everyone else.
