I've gotten to around 225 or so in my Casse campaign, and I've noticed that recruitment on the continent seems rather sparse. Throughout most of Transalpine Gaul, the only recruitable units are Lugoae, Leuce Epos, and Iaosatae. Most of my armies, therefore, consist of Leuce Epos, Botroas/Gaeroas from Cisalpine Gaul and Batacorii from the Belgae provinces. I'm hoping that the reforms will let me recruit at least something better than Lugoae in Transalpine Gaul, but I'm curious: is there some reason the Casse can't recruit Bataroas like the other Celtic factions? Also, Casse players, what kind of army composition do you typically use once on the continent?

Lots of slingers, havent got to cisalpine gaul so gaeroas/botroas from britain with batacorii. Chariots are useful if used properly as are cymyr but they're a pain in the ass to retrain. Audei/Averni arent usually a problem, mostly ran into armies of lugoae with the odd mercenaries plus some cisalpine gaeroas/botroas. Romans can be annoying if they come towards you, most of their units i've fought were extraordinarii(?) which are a bit tougher than lugoae. Dont bother your arse going into germany, the few provinces I took there had no recruitable units. Theres some nice units after the first reforms but getting there is a pain.

Disband everything and you'll get into postives, lose your navy too.
Soon you'll be making money and from there it's just one rebel city at a time.

I just disband the navy and build some slingers with the cash I have and go straight on the offensive. The rebel armys in the cities usually sally when you lay siege with a smaller army and the slingers can do a lot of damage when they're forming up, set the gaeroas and botroas on fire at will and use your chariots to flank the enemy when they've engaged your line. If its done carefully and quickly you can take 3-4 cities with your starting army, just be careful of losses because you wont be able to retrain and forget about buildings for a while.

Off topic here, but what are the triggers for Celtic reforms?
In the FAQ it gives the dates, but aren't they dynamic now?
Thanks

No, they are still static.

The Bataroas were a Translpine phenomina applicable almost exclusively to the major powers that fielded them, the northern (Aedui) confederacy and the southern (Arverni / Sequani) alliance.
The Beglae Casse (Cassi), who's culture (being proto- La Tene / La Tene 'A') differed significantly from the Gallic mainlanders and even their Belgae relatives, the Atrebates, did not have the same institutions.

Nonetheless, the Casse should however (given certain reforms and regional limitations), be able to recruit;

We also had plans for several other regional units. One has been misplaced and I'm not sure of the status of the others as I'm no longer involved.
