Smiths, Exp Temples and Weapon temples

Can smiths upgrade troops that can't be recruited in the city it's in?

Same for exp temples?

And for those temples that upgrade your armour and weapons?

You see I can upgrade my screeching women (made in shrine to freyga) to have a silver weapon and silver armour but only have 2 exp (I think the shrine of Donar does this) (I have edited the temples). Another german temple upgrades troops to 3rd exp (Shrine to woden) yet this don't work on "religious units" that it can't recruit. Shrine to Abnoba also works on other units.

So my smith works on oither units, my weapon temple works on other units but my exp shrine doesn't work on oither units. Is this true?

think it logicly,the weapon and armor can be reequip,but not the exp.But sometimes i can retrain my unit to to higher exp.Perhaps it is becoz the new troops join in the squad with new exp?:yes:

I know that exp temples can give units a higher exp if those units can be re-trained in it's city. So an abnoba shrine will give head hurlers a higher missle attack (and head hurlers can only be made with a temple to andrasta). A Donar and blaksmith can retrain a naked fanatics (made by a shrine to woden). But, Berserkers can not be retrained by a shrine to woden.

Can smiths upgrade troops that can't be recruited in the city it's in?Sorry, yet that is not possible. The city has to contain the shrine to get the benefits towards the units, however you can go and retrain your troops in these regions to get the bonuses. For example, sending a squadron of troops to a region containing a smith or greater building gains them an armour/weapons bonus. Unfortunately this does not seem to work with experience bonuses. Luckily, however, if re-training a unit in the experience bonus region which has taken casualties, the neutralisation of the men in a unit's experience will be less if they are veterans and may increase should they be "green".
