A Question

Perhaps someone can help me

I am trying to work this so that all factions are playable; and have managed to get most of them working. The following factions will not work for me. I have edited the file and can access the icons

Armenia
Dacia
Scythia
Numidia
Spain
Thrace
Roman Senate

when I click on their icons it crashes back to desktop; im running RTW V 1.3 with BI installed; can anyone tell me why those few factions will not work? If this has already been answered please redirect me to the appropriate thread. Thank you in advance.

Hi Leftius Maximus,

In the folder your workign on, when you copy and paste (or write in) the name of the nation in 'Playable' do you delete the nation name from UN-Playble' ? Sometimes it doesn't work as they might be un-playble nations and it won't let you.

Hi Leftius Maximus,
Sadly, a nasty bug introduced with the 1.3 patch, disabled the ability to play as all factions without some, much more complex, modification. May I suggest that you patch up to 1.5/1.6 (http://games.softpedia.com/get/Patch/Rome-Total-War-Barbarian-Invasion-16-Patch.shtml) and then re-attempt the changes to the file. Hopefully that could enable you to play as all the factions that you wish to play as - 1.5, fortunately, resolved the glitch. I hope this helps you, good luck, cheers!

BTW, the patch provided updates R:TW to 1.5 and BI to 1.6. Also, unfortunately, playing as The Senate is quite buggy so it is not really recommended. Unfortunately, while playing as them, you get some very nasty CTDs.
