I have just installed the EB and at first glance and pls correct me if i´m wrong cos this is a first impression, it looked good BUT there are things that put me a bit off and are similar to RTR. To begin with, when soldiers get tired and they run, they do it in a kind of moonwalk type which really sucks to see.
Second of all, the mixture of audio files. I know that they have tried to make it more natural but when they speak Latin and English , kind of sounds goofy. Were those audio files recorded inside a cave? I know that is to soon to know but in later parts of the game , do we get to see the real Roman army?. Also at the begining, all the outfits are so similar in color that in a battle you dont know who is who. Will this be the same later on?
thx

The moon walk thing is something that happens due to animations. Somewhat hardcoded.

The voicemod is only partially done. In the future there will be (hopefully) only the prebattle speechs in English.

...

By real Roman army, do you mean legionaries? There are a series (3) of complex dynamic reforms that change battle tech and equiptment for the Romans.

Everyones clothes are the same color for a reason. They were historically the same color. Dyes for clothing were expensive so only the upper tiers of society could afford anything but brown, white, & grey. Confusion in battle was a reality in ancient warfare. [Unneeded History]Colored uniforms for identification was first started by Sweden the the Thirty Years' War (AD1600s).[/Unneeded History]

Not entirely true. The persians loved their multi-coloured and rather garish costumes. For the Romans, I guess it was an unneeded expense.

However all the other points Marcus has answered really well. The moon-walking thingy is something that all mods experience who have slowed down movement speed to non-vanilla values (I think that even RTR have done this, along with many other mods). For some reason importing new marching animations is impossible, so we haven't been able to fix it.

As for the voicemod, they have not been professionally recorded, but we have screened them and Shigawire (the guy in charge) knows his stuff about recording. To my ear they sound reasonable, given that we haven't been recording them in a studio. We do have some ... - I don't think I'm meant to be talking about this stuff - ... for the voicemod, so stay tuned.

Depends on the faction you play. Romans are a cake walk. Also make sure you activate the scrip, makes the AI richer.

Uh, your talking about AI here, which is something we cannot do much about. As the Romans your biggest threats lie in the north. Once the Gaul's civil war is over and the Sweboz have united the tribes, they'll be looking for rich land, your land and they will send a lot of people to get it. Then again, the Romans are by far one of the easiest factions, if you want more of a challenge, try one of the poorer factions; Hayasdan, Pontos, Sauromatae, Saka, Casse, Aedui or Arverni, Lusotannan etc

When you click on one of your cities, an advisor will pop up: click him, next click "show me how", and script is turned on. If you're teleported through time (e.g. 272 BC to 14 AD), repeat these steps and you're teleported right back. (This teleporting thing means that the script was not properly activated.) When the script is properly activated you won't see an advisor popping up anymore if you click on a city.

Whenever you start a new campaign game, or load a saved one, the first thing you should do is click on a city. The advisor will appear: you need to click on him and click the show-me-how button. This activates the script. Remember to do it every time when you start or load a campaign.
