View Full Version : Romani Baracks Building Difficulties
Playing as Romani; the year is 137bc. Currently, must of western asia minor and northern africa is conquered while building type 2 government building in them. Unfortunatel,y I am unable to build my faction barracks in almost any of thes territories.
I am having severe difficulties with CTD bugs when the script is turned on (crashes during rebel turn; known issue) so i have bee playing without the script. To my knowledge, this should not affect anything other than the 4tpy and extra money for AI, right?
I'm hesitant to apply the patch the rebel CTD because I've modded the building file a LOT; changing around the AOR quite a bit to my own research and specs. (thracians were used plenty, as were different types of Iberian infantry by the romans, balaeri slingers, and decent elephants, etc)
Any pointers?

There are no faction MICs outside of Italy until the Marian Reforms.
Also, with the script off you have ton of problems. For one, no reforms, ever. Second, the AI will not get governments in their cities. And without governments, they won't be able to recruit units.
Crap. Thanks for the info Antoninus. Sadly, there goes all of my AOR, map modding, and all. I'm well past the marian reforms though; but would miss out on the Imperial reforms. Guess I'll just be waiting for the next version and maybe start over then. Any diea when its due?

I don't see why your modding would effect the script. Did you change city names or something? What type of changes did you make, out of curiosity?
The next version is a ways away. Big reworks are in process for a Roman system, all of Parthia, and dynamic reforms (plus new units).
I made slight changes to the map, (mainly concerning the territory of Ak-Ik), lots of AOR changes; giving plenty of new units recruitability status by the Romans if they were historically used by them, and adding a few other units on the side. The only campaign I have played were the Romani, so I've only modded heavily from their perspective. I've been filling a lot of the "recruitment gaps" with appropriate units as well. FYI, baleric slingers in the Balaeri Islands, Corsica and Sardinaia allow light rgeek AOR troops, Illyria allows some citizen militia units, gave the Romans quite a few more Galatian and Thracian troops when they moved into those areas, and many others where historically appropriate. Buts its been an ongoing process as I've beeen playing the game. So I'd rather not lose it, if possible.

I don't see why any of that would cause the script to cause a crash. Maybe the map changes...
The map change I made at the biginning of the game, and went fine. I'm 90% certain the CTD is being caused by the rebel city known CTD bug, which to fix I'd have to overwrite the descr_building.txt file. Which I'd rather not do......

But the AI turn rebelling city CTD causes a crash whether the script is on or off.
NM, if thats the case. I have no clue.
