I'm playing as the Getai, and I've conquored Gawjam-Bastarnoz (fighting several units of the one in question), and installed a Tpe 4 government and the highest local MIC, but all I can recruit there is Gastiz. What exactly do I need to be able to recruit them?

Bastarnae are Factional MIC 3 I believe, so that Type IV gov needs to go.
EDIT: Saw you were Getic, not Sweboz. Can't help you there, though if its not in the regional MIC I'd try a Factional one to see. If it doesn't pop up at 3 or 4 then you just can't recruit them.

i thought MIC 4 enabled you to recruit the highest level of auxillary?

No, level 5 does. But the getai don't get a bastarnae unit anyways, so it's a mute point unfortunately, only the Sweboz get that unit.

Is that intentional?

The Bastarnae unit is just a slightly more powerful version of the Drapanai, so it's not like you miss much...

Could be one of those model-sharing thingies again. Although as AFAIK the Draps and Bastards are the only two units using that model slot, you'd think it was easy to circumvent with the merc trick so there's probably some other reasons too.

^ level 5 MIC!???!!?!

In my Roman campaign, my MIC only goes from 1 to 4.

1 is homeland, 2 is conquered. 3 is like a tributary/nonhomeland
and 4 is allied state.

Where is 5?

MIC stands for Military Industrial Complex or something along these lines, the barracks in "layman" terms... :clown:
