could anyone produce the historical battle of Alesia
i know the numbers are quite impossible using RTW engine but it would be very interesting to see what you guys come up with? or if this is not possible provide some information about it, cheers

Numbers are not the issue. You will notice that all battles are done using a ratio so that the armies can be represented in the game. The problem is the terrain, buildings, and siegeworks that were present at Alesia. They would need to be modeled, have the pathfinding working properly, and then put in the game.

Similar experiments have been done with Nomad buildings, but all that work was lost. This means it is possible, but the amount of time required would be staggering.

Well, not exactly. Just that, unless I am mistaken, a lot of work that was done has been lost and so redoing it all has fallen down the priority list.

It varies depending on the size of the battle. For Raphia and Ipsus I used 25:1; the smaller version of Ipsus was 40:1; Bibracte was 12.5:1.

It may seem arbitrary, but there is a method behind it - mainly for the ease of working with even numbers or numbers with a base of 5.
