Not really any of those, for me it would me more at a posh dinner party eating fine dishes and then chocking on a stone from an olive or something like that. It sounds a little painful or traumatising, yet I would like my last moments to be something memorable, something which involves all of the good things in life.

Well..
Chopped to pieces by axes on a pile of enemy corpses.... because that would be one of my dreams.. Charging into millions of enemies just yelling "For Sparta!"

In your sleep - painless, i hate pain

Self Immolation - depends, am i making someone feel bad by doing it?

Saying something witty - i just say witty things normally

Other (state in post) - killed by the one i love

Other (state in post) - massive orgy. Die from over-stimulation.

Suicide bombing a large well-known building when it's empty.

Tasteless, i know, but i figure that if i'm going to die, i should die in a way that earns me my well deserved 15 minutes of fame.

Getting shot by my best friend at precisely the moment that I realise he's betrayed me and is actually an impossibly evil villain, but surviving for just long enough to distract him momentarily so his deadly plan can be thwarted.

Either in a plane crash, playing trumpet or at a concert or somewhere crowded.

And it HAS to be somewhere foreign, I don't want to die in NZ. I'm not too fussed about where it could be. But I want to have seen or be seeing the world when I conk out, however that may be.

This is a heavy topic for the Frontroom.

I haven't given it much thought other than I don't want it to be a slow death over months or weeks like two of my grandparents, a friend and now my wife's grandfather.

But since the question is asked, I supposed that in order to keep in character with my life, I like my death to have something incredibly funny about it (but not embarassingly so). Something funny enough that family and friends at the funeral couldn't help but break out in laughter everytime they thought about my demise. I imagine a eulogy delivered haltingly because the speaker couldn't keep a straight face. I don't know if, from an emotional standpoint, that would be a healthy thing for those I'd have left behind, but I would like to think it would be.

I don't intend to die :|

But if it happens it'll have to be with a bang. A TRUE MAN'S DEATH. A bullet in the chest or belly while in war as you lie there down bleeding to death (or dead very fast) but it'll have to be after having been in war for a long long damn long time, grown in rank and have achieved great victories in the field. A noble -- and even "glorious" death while defending a place with your men outnumbered, where you fight vehemently and heroically. Ahh :beam: lol.

Or a vehicle crash of some kind where you are instantly dead.

Poll coming in a bit.
Why are you setting this poll? :inquisitive:

Don't tell me you're about to die or something like that.

Call me crazy, but I swear I've actually seen a vision of my death:

I'm a POW in North Korea during a prison break. I'm by myself when I see the main body of escapists about to be intercepted by some guards and cut down in a hail of gunfire. I lay down suppressive fire on the guards which enables to main body to actually escape! Unfortuneatly, I'm the only person they have left to shoot at and I'm hit in myside and fall against something wooden at my back. As I'm laying there in anguish I feel the barrel of a pistol pushed against the back of my head.

There is the sound of the hammer being pulled back.

I think it will only come true so long as I maintain the Army as my career. As of right now I don't intend to get out.

Head implosion, knife fight, sexual exhaustion, failed attempt at robbing pet store. struck by quasar, spontaneous combustion, and being so infinitely smart that you discover how your own mind works and become stuck in a paradox due to understanding how you think about how you think. But probably the best one is getting in a suit of armor, jumping out of a plane, then crashing through Wall Street, destroying billions in stock.

Actually right now I'm in the "I don't want to die" crowd. I always want to see what tomorrow brings - both personally and current events. My curiosity for what lays ahead sustains me. I'm sure someday my curiosity will turn to dread when I realize tomorrow will only be another day of someone having to feed me and I have to poop in a bedpan again. Only then, with my body functions failing left and right, I may be willing to fold my hand.

This is a bit of a heavy topic.

I do share your sentiments Gregoshi, personally I am terrified of death and the thought of dying. Not entirely sure why though, seeing how I (and everyone else for that matter) have absolutely no way of knowing what happens. I do not believe in the concept of a soul, or the idea of an afterlife, though I very much want to. The idea of spending an "eternity" in happiness with my family, friends, and pets sounds great, but I just haven't seen anything to make me believe there is such an existence, or even a god or god(s) for that matter. There might be, might not be. Maybe there is a "heaven" and "hell". Maybe I haven't lived up to some arbitrary code or set of standards to warrant my soul's entry to this "heaven". I honestly don't worry about it though, the only time it ever affects me is when I see and hear about death that hits close to home, or perhaps get to thinking about people (and pets) that have passed on and knowing I may truly never see them again.

Normally, I would have preferred to die in battle. However, as warfare is not what it used to be(as in there are no longer any set battles), I really am unsure. But then again, I cannot change the way or time I die, so I'm not going to worry about it.

LMAO Honestus ! You are the INFEEDEEEEL !!! LOL !!

I'm not sure I'm afraid of death.

Have faced it before and yes I was afraid I guess. That fear was emotive though, not rational. Sweat, increased heart rate, blood rush, increased breathing, andrenaline, aggression. Animal instincts to deal with the situation at hand. I'm not sure it was fear though, because I was suprememely confident, and not nervous or you know... freaked.

I accept it as a fact of life, nothing much to it really.

I'd like to die in Hawaii, on the balcony of my condo looking over the Pacific Ocean. Sipping a nice Scotch, preferably a Talisker or a Lagavulin. Smoking a nice cigarette, preferably a Gitanes or a Lucky Strike.

I would be happy if no one grieved me and they were glad I lived the life I did. I would like when I die that all I knew were happy that I lived the life I did, to it's natural conclusion, and they celebrated at my death. Don't get it wrong, hope you understand what I mean.

In another era (M2:TW, STW etc) I'd like to have died in battle, or was I soldier today (Iraq, Afghanistan) I would like the same, to die in battle, of course. Preferably while inflicting the maximum amount of damage to the enemy !!! or protecting my own.

Why those two? Well if I get married and have children I'd like to see my grandchildren. However, if I never marry I want to die young, full of life and I want to FACE death and spit in his eye.
