Stupid, absolutely stupid and idiotic!!! :furious3:
Romania's president has been suspended on power abuse claim. Truth is, he started to use the axe against the political and economic interests.
At the start of the current presidential mandate, everyone was happy, except for the opposing parties. Basescu started to hit in the communists and economic interests, bringing to light some absolutely incredible contracts and other related stuff.
Now they suspended him, even his old political partners voted against him.
What a shame. Shame on this country.

You know Edyz, I would love to give you at least one reply to this topic, and I thoroughly enjoy bluffing my way into debates I know absolutely nothing whatsoever about, but when it comes to the finer workings of Romanian political machinations...

Then fire what you have to say Louis. ~;)
Even better, the president of the Senate is basically the leader of the country right now. And there's only one thing he knows to do: :barrel:

Look on the bright side edyz , its not like they are going to drag him and his wife out , put them up against a wall and shoot them nowadays .
Its progress of sorts .
Shoot them, rape her, stab them, and throw them out a window. Did you forget that Tribsey?

Well, at least not on Christmas day, anyway - which shows that this is all just poor timing on their side. ~D

It's not that the president I'm worried about, it's that we don't make any progress in terms of civilisation at all!!!

I know, like in 1914, when they laughed so hard, they couldn't stop for 4 years... and about 19 million of them laughed themselves to death. ~;)
Eastern Europe is always good for a luagh
Most likely due to this.

Oh, the wit.
If Basescu hasn't been abusing power, what has he been up to, edyz? My
understanding is that any referendum is likely to go in his favour, so it seems
your side isn't going to the dogs yet.

I'd rather have it so those politicians actively involved in the pre-revolution government be banned from holding any political office, ever.

You prefer the "down the pipe" leader of the country instead of a ship captain?

I think I said all, so going by your analogy, the ship's entire crew.

The fresh recruits are too raw, and they will surely get influenced. So, unless they start now to develop their minds, only the 4th or 5th generation after us will be democratic.
Sometimes you've got to wonder whether democracy really is the answer in some countries

Ah yes, here's where the terminology is important. You can't simply ask if democracy is the answer but whether a democratic form of government is right. The answer clearly is yes but the underlying institutions need to be established in order for it to take hold and flourish. The degree to which this is true is important as well. A true democracy is an unworkable form of government. Freedom of movement further hinders this as those with democratic ideals may go to countries where there is already an established, stable government.

Well, clearly, communism is not an option. Russki soldiers are unwelcome here.
