Having collected an army with units that are with me since almost the begginning, I journeyed from my homelands to northern italy, while the romans were still my allies. When I was along the way they broke the alliance and attacked the city closest to the Pyrinees. By that time I was already decided, nothing would stop me to reach Rome and nobody was going to get in my way!

Actually, the AI did put quite some stuff in my way to block me, as usual (I give them that), but most of their stacks were busy conquering Germany and Poland areas and crushing the Aedui and Averni at the same time. On the way I raided Bononia and I left the settlement, which in turn revolted to the Aedui... ehehe.

I fought some battles to get where I stand, at a time where the majority of the roman military is urgently returning home. Roman boats are better than mine and are much more numerous. Fleeing from sea is also not an option.

In the middle of the italic peninsula, one man... against an empire.

Very seldom to see that Pahlava beats the blue giant... and Ptollies and the Sabaens beating the grey death.:2thumbsup:

I'm thinking more and more of giving Lusitania a try in one of my next campaigns...

Check out that Sauromate, Pahlava, and Karthadast expansion!!!
Centurio Nixalsverdrus: You should definitly try them out. They have an excellent balanced military IMHO.

Well, that reflects history very well :p remember, between the AS (in it's glorious days) and Bactria they almost destroied Parthia for good...

Cheers...

conquer Roma, and suddenly you get a time paradox.

That's one impressive army and treasury you got there. You haven't been using any cheats, have you? :holmes:

I doubt it. WIth all of Iberia and its mines it wouldn't be that hard to rack up an impressive treasury pretty quickly, especially if he isn't at war with all his neighbors. The army I'm not too shocked at, except maybe for all the chevrons. I almost never have armies with mor than one or two experienced units. The grind keeps the exp gain slow.

Are you still using my money script Dan_Grr?

Just a reminder to everyone. I AM using the previous version of Redmeth's money script (not the last one, the previous before that) in my campaign. Im also using MAA's city mod, and unfortunately, my cities do not grow anything like the AI. I still have my capital at 6000 and no king palace or anything like that to build further. Also, Im using Watchman's take on units.

Back to the point: I can't stand having AS destroy everything on their path with 100 000 mnai per turn. From the beginning up to 230-220 BC they were pretty strong in my game. Now they're slowly getting their ass kicked, or are at least in a stalemate. It is proceeding somewhat historically, for it was at the begginning of the AS empire that they were at their strongest.

Im not using any cheats. I conquered up to 5 or 6 settlements on the iberian peninsula at the start of the game. When finished I was in debt but eventually I started making some money as my army was destroyed. I stayed quite some time standing still making some money, fighting off some Eleutheroi armies that eventually spawned. I lost some cities a couple of times with this, and I was left with little money again.

Eventually I made enough so I could build a boat... a horrible little boat where I trusted my single stack and might army (coff coff') with my most promising general and went off through the hazardous-and-full-of-pirate- waters to Ireland. Conquered it, build it, and left the general there. Now that I think about it, it was somewhat historical, as from Ireland you can build the Goidilic Heavy Armoures Shock Infantry, and when I arrived there I already had Vascii Armoured Shock Infantry.

In the meantime my homeland was at a mercy (if they wanted) of a couple of full Karthadast stacks, who fortunately, did nothing and remained my allies. The Eleutheroi did attacked me from time to time, but I have managed to either fight them off or re-conquer my cities again. At this time I started making money, when some dozen turns later, Karthadas attacked me. I quickly raised an army and conquered the last 2 settlements they had on my peninsula.

At that time, Rome sent a diplomat for an alliance. I accepted but... at that moment they were almost knocking at my door. I decided to do something wild, à lá Hannibal.

I don't know if the browny guy is going to survive all this stuff, but you should expect a massive raiding on the italic peninsula.

P.S.: It shouldn't do much to the AI, somehow the AI settlements rebuild and repopulate pretty quickly.

EDIT: Those are silver chevrons.
